Filling er up with gas...

What gas you use is there a difference in different brand of gas cheveron,shell,76, etc I use 89 from cheveron it cost around $2.65 to $2.89 I feel it last longer and makes the truck respond bttr then on the 87 well that's how I feel interested to hear your guys input thnx

My local pure 87 is about $0.07 MORE expensive than E10 89. This is my 4 tanks (1800 miles currently) and all I have used is pure 87. I plan to do that until 5000 miles, I then will run E10 89 for another 5000 miles to see the different. Not really accurate way to compare since the first 5000 miles is breaking in miles but who cares, right?

I only use Shell in my Tundra and Explorer.

There are other great Top Tier gases out there, but some studies have shown that swapping between different gasoline brands on a constant basis can result in the different detergents interacting with one another and possibly contaminating and/or gumming up your system (worst case scenario.)

How true or exaggerated this is, I don't know. But since there are so many Shell stations out there, it's easy to only use them.

I run on 87 99.9% of the time. Mostly Shell or Sams Club dino. I've never seen any difference in pep/power (and there shouldn't be) using 89 that is 20 cents per gal more than 87 here in Denver area. A total waste of money IMHO. Truck is programmed to run best on 87.

All I use is Racing Fuel 100. I get around 30 MPG at 200 MPH.

Top Tier gas keeps a list of the better brands. http://www.toptiergas.com/ I used gas from the local grocery chain for a while, but the mileage was lower and varied between tanks. I tried E85 in my previous pickup, but there were some serious issues there. I've stayed with the better brands since then and have reliable results and stable mileage.

I have a 2016 with just 1300 miles. I use 87 octane from valero down here in tx. 1.95 a gal right now. I do know that the higher octance gas seems to make truck alot more responsive. Always been told that if engine doesnt require premium. You dont have to use it. I use premium every few tanks just for cleaning system and to have some fun with the throttle

 

It's 108mph. Damn governors. I'm sure there are plenty of safety reasons for this, but there is a whole lot more hp and gearing available for much more.

Really? I haven't tried, don't plan to either, but I wouldn't have expect it to stop at 108.

 

I've seen Rush three times here in Denver since 2004. Twice at Red Rocks and last time at Pepsi Center.

 

I'm guessing that one of the reasons the speed limiter is set for the speed it is, is because that's what the tires are rated for (really 112). That and high profile trucks really aren't that great for high speed shenanigans.
