Brute force fab makes bumpers as well, you just have to get in contact with them because they aren't on the website

    Sold my bumper for $300.
Yeah I took about $130 hit, but it's ok.
Would rather have the money right now to buy sliders. Not sure what route I'm going with the truck right now. I'm really considering doing some performance mods to the tundra and saving for a used gx470 to build into my off roader.

Has anyone removed the back plate of their side mirrors to plasti-dip them? Any tips?

I want to mess about with that and start dechroming the truck today.

The center where the winch is is from move the rest is homemade. Keep in mind that with almost any aftermarket bumper they bolt to the stock bumper brackets on the frame which are not near heavy enough to keep the bumper from smashing into the radiator in a wreck. My bumper did most of the body damage when I wrecked it because of this.DF5577C6-1D1A-4DCA-9781-E5D7DDEDFF89.jpg

I did this a few weeks ago. You can pop three tabs on the top by moving the mirror around. The hardest of these is the most inner one. I then used a screwdriver with some tape over it to slowly work around the sides of the back plate to pop the other tabs out. One of those panel puller tools may work better but I don’t have one. The tabs came out pretty easy without much pressure.

I got them off, but I broke the innermost tabs on both sides. There was literally no way to get at it and even with only a bit of pressure the snapped. :(

Oh well, Gorilla Glue will fix em.

I plasti-dipped mine but didn't remove them. You can just tape off that area with plastic so it doesn't get on the truck.

I tried that first, but it ended up running pretty badly, even on the second attempt I didn't get a smooth finish. This is my first time using PlastiDip though so I may have gone too heavy with it.

Mirrors are done. The grille will be the next project, maybe in a week or so, depending on the wind. I'm thinking the grille cross bars will go black, and the chrome strip below the grill will go white. Toyota logo and V8, I'm not sure on but thinking red to contrast with the black and sort of match my wheel.

I completely understand your concern with that product then from Amazon ... However be careful of the orileys warranty for the radiator... They will have a tendency to set the warranty for the Murray's radiator but the will deliver it as a specter radiator in the Murray's box which may cause warranty issues

Yeah you're holding the can way too close. Next time hold it a foot or more back and go over it with very light coats. I did the same thing with the first wheel I did.

@Outbound , also for best results you want to heat up the can in a bucket of warm water. It goes on more evenly.

After all the work I've done, I took my Tundra for a long test drive. Unfortunately the dirt road, NF-5n30, I usually use is still closed due to a fire a few years ago. Anyway, it handles great on winding mountain roads. I also found a few wildflowers left in San Fransisquito Cyn.

So pull the cupholder all the way out. You will see that the cupholder pulls out from another piece that also pulls out. On the other piece there will be one small square opening. Through that hole you can see a small screw, one on each side. I used a small torx bit, Allen key will work as well. Just unscrew both small screws and then pull out the cupholder. If that's not clear I can take some pictures tonight and post them.

I wonder how long they will take to ship. Not that I'll be able to have em installed anytime soon.

Cut more fender off, about 1/2" on the bottom portion. We also bent back the messed up fender so it sits kind of straight now. Prepping for brand new 35s tomorrow :D

I’m not sure either, but I did a highway 280 mile round trip today with about 300 extra pounds in the truck not including me. First time I averaged over 18 mpg. The exact average was 18.1 mpg. It could be summer blend gas?

Best long distance highway average since keeping track in November has been 17.8 mpg. Not sure how the seasonal blends average into the equation, but .3 extra miles is the difference.

The Faux Bump Stop plugs came in today. Perfect size, but too hard. Almost as hard as the rock stops on the truck already. Return status.

Just a bit of advice, I had to trim the pinch weld on the backside of the wheel well when I ran bigger tires it didn’t rub when turning but if I hit a decent bump on the street or any off-roading it would cut my tires.

Pinch weld is already hammered flat. The only thing we rub now is body mount and frame. Body mount chop will be done shortly. Last weekend we did a test run and I got really close to fender near the bottom. These are worn 35s so new 35s would definitely touch. So we cut a good amount off to make sure we are good to go.

Once you cut the metal like that, is there a trick to keep it from rusting? I know you're in a dry area but just asking in general. Excited to see your 35's!!

Do you already have a RTT in mind? If we didn't have dogs I would have gone this route. Looks so much better than my ARE camper shell.

I'm a bit shocked by how hard these Wheeler Superbumps are. They are not what I was expecting but people seem to love them. We'll see once I get them installed.

I’m looking at these from the site @Festerw put up. Anyone have input? Whats the difference in these and Superbumps? Besides price?

Not sure yet if I want to change out these bumps as I really don’t bottom out. Been looking at the grease marks I put on top of the lower control arms and haven’t seen a footprint from the bump in weeks.

Planning on doing the Pink Coolant Re-Conversion this afternoon.
