Welcome from Texas! I also come from a Ford family. Fords never interested me, even though I liked the look of my mom's beast of an F250, I decided my first truck would be a Tacoma. A friend from high school had one and I fell in love with it, so I got my own. I LOVED that truck til the day I traded it for a Tundra. I still miss it, but I needed the spacious interior of a crewmax for my giant doofus dogs, and the towing capacity for when we get cows and a horse. I honestly love the Tundra more than the Tacoma.

Same here, bought the tundra for my big ass dog. But I got the DC for the fold up rear seat, so he can chill on the floor. Whole back of the truck is his. Front is for me and the spouse. Bed area goes to bikes, coolers, tents, BBQ stuff etc.

    Welcome from Myrtle Creek.
I miss my old Bronco, it would shoot 6ft flames out both tailpipes if I dropped the gas from WOT.

You're not that far up the freeway from us, funny you should mention flames out of the tailpipes, when I had my 1951 Ford pickup I had two exhaust stacks just behind the cab made from old driveshafts and when I shut the ignition switch off while moving down the road then turn it on again it sounded like two cannons going off, first time I did it I like to have scared the crap out of a friend of mine that was in the passenger seat, he ducked almost to the floorboard. Of all the past vehicles I've owned I miss that truck the most, it was a Rat Rod before they called them that.

Don't feel bad, after owning my 89 diesel powered Ford, I found that I couldn't afford one either.

I had a Ford *spit*. Once. I drive a Tundra now because I like knowing my truck will start in the mornings and get me to work. I also like not having my truck in the shop every 3 week on average because something broke.

So I could be a tundras.com member.
Seriously, it was really the only viable choice. No GM, Ford or Dodge for me, and the Nissan has issues, (I test drove Nissan and Ford)

Once upon a time I inherited a 1982 Ford F100 from my dad's estate. After many years of ownership there were lots of deferred maintenance issues and I didn't want to fix all of it and still be driving an antique vehicle with no airbag, ABS and other safety related features. I mentioned to a family member I was about to buy a late model used F150 at the local dealership ~ he said, "You'll be making a big mistake!"
I shopped around and found a cream puff Tundra for sale in the CarTrader and bought it quick like ~ it's the nicest vehicle I've ever owned and it's the lowly Work Truck model and not the SR5.

I was also in the ford family. I had from. A F-250-450. 6.4 and 2 6.7 diesels. Ford does have a nice truck BUT I wanted something that was going to last more than 50,000 miles. My wife has an 08 Tundra SUV with over 150,000 miles and only had to change the water pump. I have other friends went from ford to tundra.

    Not nearly enough room here!
I still marvel at some of my friends from work, who'll defend to the death the fact that a couple times a month back to their dealer's service department, for repairs is "normal" and EVERY truck maker is the same.

35 years of Ford pickup ownership...one 2018 lemon, then no loyalty to a lifelong customer. Tundra because of reliability and customer service reputation.

I forgot to put in my 2000 250 with 375,000 on best ford I ever had. My last 6.7 frontend replace 2 time within 36000 then I had to pay for the last one.
