Colors running to cargo light switch are:

Its pink if you pick it up at the rear seat, driver side foot area.

Search "bed light install" on here.

It's hard to tell but it's the thicker one. I just probed it with a test light and had someone turn the cargo lights on and off to confirm.

    How did you probe?

    I’d feel better if I had a positap,but I can’t find them anywhere.

My test light has a sharp point and I just pushed it through the insulation into the wire. Not ideal for external wires but I feel like it's ok for interior wires. It kinda self heals after you pull it out, it doesn't leave wire exposed.

So that wiring diagram looks like the back of the cargo light switch- I took a picture of mine.

    F67E5924-156D-47BA-AD69-FEFDE4F9555C.jpg
The installation thread I followed tapped into the power wire coming off the block behind the dash.

I assume youre installing bed lights or outside lights of some sort. Either place to tap into is fine. It was just less work for me to grab it at the rear passenger area, rather than go to the dash and take apart the panels.

These are puddle lights mounted under the side mirrors. I could splice in where you describe easily by adding 3 ft or so of wire. Close quarters behind the dash.

So which wire did you tap into on the block? Trying to wire some puddle lights on a 2019 and can’t get them to light up.

Glad you found it. I ended up going into the driver side floor near the door to use the pink wire in there- lots more room to work.

    ok thanks for posting.
I think I maybe confused? I'm still learning about electrical stuff and want to fully understand. Can someone clarify?

Based on the op's pic of the cargo light switch and the diagram above pin4 blue wire which is above wires in pin 9/10 is -'ve wire?

When looking at page 12 of the 2018 Toyota factory install guide for cargo bedlight's it shows blue wire as power?

Post back when you know for sure, plan to do some wiring to the cargo light myself for my cap when it gets installed. Part of the reason I have the wiring diagram.

ok sure, those connectors in the Toyota PDF are at the dashboard which you would have to pull apart. I'll probably want to do what the op did and tie in at the larger pink wire at rear driver side sill. That way you don't have to take out the front kick plate just pull the rear driver sill.

I replaced my third brake light and many other things on my 2018 and the wiring harness changed for the 2018's and above. The first wiring diagram I seen said 2016 and above which obviously was printed before 2018. When I installed the brake light the lights were swapped. I had to modify the light connector to get it to work correctly. Sorry I have no pics to share, was pretty pissed doing this since I thought it was be a slam dunk but took longer than what I planned for.

Sounds like you got it figured out!

I'm trying this out myself, if I use the pink wire from the driver side sill, will my bed lights operate the same as OEM cargo light?
