Power fold tow mirrors question

Hey guys..........I have the standard mirrors with heat and power glass, but want to upgrade to the POWER FOLD tow mirror. I have already looked into the new dash switch and wiring needed, but my question is for anyone that currently has the power-fold-tow-mirror. Can you power fold the mirror when in drive or reverse, or is it only available in park ? ( a safety thing ? ) Reason being, I back into a tight area and need to power fold the passenger mirror while in reverse and drive. Thanks in advance to anyone with this answer.

 

Only thing I can think of doing is setting up a circuit where you have to fold them by way of a switch.
Not an electrical engineer so don't ask me how LOL

 

I can get the new switch from Toyota along with the mirrors. Just trying to find out who has a truck with these power-fold-tow mirrors and have them try the folding option in fwd and reverse. Thanks LAW for trying.

Yes. You can fold them on the move with the factory switch. I do it all the time when going through drive-throughs.

 

yep ^^ i have power fold normal mirrors so assuming the button does the same function, just bigger mirrors.

 

Do they make power fold toe mirrors with bsm?

And yes with my regular power fold mirrors, I can fold them in any gear as long as the ignition is on.

 

can you go from reg non folding heated mirrors to power folding?

I’ve got power fold tow mirrors on order, and plan to do a full write up when they arrive (couple of weeks).
