This is what I got after 52 mile drive with stops in between up and down hills I get about the same on the way back. Lighter foot and less than 2k rpm is best or cruise control as well 20190419_063039.jpg

I average 9.4 to 9.6. I also do very short trips and mostly city driving. I only am leveled with 33" KO2 tires. Have added extra weight by putting an MX4 cover, RSB, and TRD skid plate but no way those are effecting anything. I was getting better mpg when I was stock around 12 maybe.

After driving a Sierra for many years, I am still getting used to the MPG - this Tundra likes fuel...and lots of it...but I bought it because it is a truck that I can hook stuff up to and not worry about it. I also didn't want AFM, start/stop or anything else that would cause me grief...still, the MPGs are not great (3.42 v 4.30 rear end is the culprit in the end - I had a Dakota that loved gas about the same as this Tundra and a Mazda many moons ago that was geared too high to get good fuel economy - both trucks don't even come close to how much truck this Tundra is). I've come to the conclusion that I don't care...if it gets to the point that I can't sleep - I'll go buy a F150 or a Silverado for the MPG...I did do a test today towing the pontoon to the lake and back (one way 65mph and on the way home 55mph) - 3.8mpg difference. Compared to my old 1998 Sierra, the Tundra pulled that 'toon like it wasn't there and didn't even move the rear end...the Sierra used to tow it (5.7) but you could feel Tundra Towing.jpg Tundra Towing 2.jpg it back there.

Agreed, if gas mileage is all we need to be concerned with then bring it on. Love my truck...just wish Toyota would pay a little more attention to the competition when it comes to off road capabilities. Like it or not the raptor and the ram rebel are pretty sweet. I just hate the EcoBoost and can't stand anything other then a Cummins in a dodge...Tundra it is.

Only have one pure highway trip so far. Mostly city driving. Happy with the 4.6 so far.
