Sticker code for towing capacity chart

Can I figure out the code for the towing chart based on the body style and engine choice? Im getting ready to go look at a 2019 sr5, double cab, 6 1/2' bed with the 5.7 flex fuel engine. It has the larger fuel tank (38 gal), 4x4, and the sport package.

I'm trying to figure out the max tow rating before I go look at it this Saturday. I have the vin if that helps.

 

I have the 2018 version of your truck my owners manual says and it was advertised as such a towing capacity of 9800lb. I will be hooking my 5400 dry weight travel trailer to my truck next month for the first time. I did put Firestone Airbags (something I've wanted to do on all my trucks) on my Tundra. The engine sticker on the inside of drivers door should give you a code to compare to the owners manual.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was thinking the 9800 lbs. Was what it was going to be... I'll be sure to look for the code when I get to the dealership. I made the mistake of not knowing much of anything about my current truck when I bought it(2010 F150).

Did you go with the manual fill airbags or the onboard compressor system?

 

What are you going to tow? You will want to check out the max payload sticker on the inside of the door as well.

 

Don't forget tires. P rated won't handle like E rated

 

24 foot camper, 4700 lbs dry and 7300 fully loaded

Watch the video and use the GVWR and Payload Calc spreadsheet here to input your numbers. You should fine with the DC and I don't see why you would need airbags unless you are maxing out the 7300 or hauling heavy payload in the bed of truck

 

let me take you off topic a bit.... Why are you looking at the FFV engine?? Big downside here is that the FFV has a recommended oil change of 5000 miles instead of 10 for the base engine. Not a huge cost for a low mileage vehicle but if you are driving a lot that could end up being another $100-200 a year. Unless you are going to save that somehow in fuel costs ( I don't see how) you might see a bit of savings by finding something besides the FFV.

I think the tow rating is the same but you will get less mpg out of the FFV.

 

It's not that I'm particularly looking for a truck with a flex fuel engine in it, but that's what I keep finding. I have no intention on running e85 in the truck due to the lack of availability in the area and the lower mpg's. I was used to changing my oil at 5k with my current truck so that wouldn't be a big deal, however I thought I read that the recommended oil changeninterval for normal driving was 7500 but I could be wrong.
