My wife’s 2016 sr5 4Runner has a nice leather wrapped wheel. I figured once I wear a spot in the wheel on my Tundra I will upgrade to a 4Runner wheel.

Which steering wheels fit the pro? I drove a new taco recently and the leather feels so much better in my hands.

    None. Keeping this one stock.
Tedt drove a 19 pro yesterday. Wheel felt cheap compared to my 18 SR5. And buttons were mushy. What gives? It also felt smaller in diameter.

Taco leather wheel fits, only exchange the wheel, use existing Tundra silver modules and wiring.

    Yes.

The salvage yard also left the steering wheel controls on, too. That made it extra easy.

Still debating about wrapping the original plastic one...but don’t feel like spending the time to do it.

My wife wrapped her Jeep steering wheel with 550 paracord. It turned out sweet. Think I’ll do that to my pro

Do you have a DIY or write up on this? i may purchase one myself. Do you think it will be an issue if the airbag was deployed on the one i am going to purchase? i am able to swap the existing airbag and button modules from my current wheel right? any insight is appreciated.

If it's seized, you tap with the side of your fist around the clock of the wheel and it'll loosen to pull off, that's how I did it. I imagine the puller is so it comes straight out and you don't bend any teeth/parts but it's pretty tough metal, just don't go hulk on it.

Airbag is not an issue, the one you're not using deployed or not, it's held by Torx on either side of the column after you pop the cover off, it's that whole center piece the emblem is attached to and you put it aside as you work on the wheel and modules, see here at 1:50.

Yes, The Steering Wheel is not very appealing on my 2019 Tundra Trd Pro either. I would love to upgrade my Steering Wheel but, I think I would rather have the Steering Wheel from a 2019 Tundra Platinum. Guess I will call my dealership on Monday.

I get all of my parts at wholesale but I actually think it’s more than that. I did check into it once before but I cannot find my quote from my dealership. I will check again.

I installed the SDHQ steering wheel. I love this thing. Feels thicker than the cheap factory steering wheel.

has anyone experienced the steering wheel being misaligned after install? im not sure if its just me but it seems the wheel is slightly leaning right when driving in a straight line.

I’ve replaced a couple steering wheels on cars. You may be off by one tooth. You could pull it and try again. Next time you get an alignment it won’t matter, they’ll straighten it up.

Now you send your steering wheel to SDHQ and they give you a loaner right? How long was the process? Been thinking of doing this. Steering wheel looks sick:thumbsup:

No, they will mail you the replacement steering wheel. They might charge you a core charge for your factory steering wheel. You will have I think 14 days to send back your factory one back to them.

    It's worth it!

I've joined the club, and replaced my steering wheel with a leather steering wheel from a tacoma. So much better! A few folks have snagged a few good deals on ebay, but I don't have the patience. I got mine for $300 shipped on ebay.

The SDHQ looks great, but $650 seems a bit pricey. You have to put out an additional $300 until you ship back your old steering wheel. You also have to pay to ship it to them (based on what they told me via chat). But to each his own... ;)

What year Tacoma did it come off of? Im pretty much like you, no patience, but also dont want to pay 300 for a wheel with dings or scratches. Pictures on ebay seem a bit sketchy as they arent great resolution and have poor lighting. Are you able to return if it arrived with any damages?

I may have misread the SDHQ website, but dont they just wrap your original steering wheel? Hence the loaner? I just want to make sure lol. The price of $650 seems really high to just wrap your original steering wheel with leather

It was from a 2016 Tacoma. The ebay seller (partslord) had great pictures of the steering wheel. But, I did send them an email asking about the condition, in which they responded it was in like new condition.
