What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

I really think when I do finally install all my new lift parts I will get these as well. The poly bushings I just installed were more of a "might as well" type. I was already greasing up some of the front end so I swapped them out. How much give those superbumps have really appeal to me. Seems much more practical than a small bump stop which is hard slamming against the LCA. I would have to believe those superbumps are much nicer to the suspension components and give the driver a more plush ride.

 

@00TundraZ and PHM, you really won't regret it. Even going over speed bumps, which I do several times a day, is a better experience with these.

 

My list of parts I need to do my front end correctly keeps growing... The Mrs is gonna kill me...

@Casper421 , @Rheywood456 will these ship from the factory at a good height or will I need to adjust? I didn't buy the spanner wrench yet.

 

I haven’t adjusted them since install but I have 700# springs and a shim per side. I might have to adjust them a bit pretty soon.

Went to a local shop to have my Bilstein 5100s installed and my spacers swapped out. The guy misunderstood and installed the Bilsteins on level 4 lift but left the spacers in there.

Had to leave it another day for him to remove the spacers.

Seems like a red flag for this guys shop... I mean it should be common sense that you wouldnt do this right??

I thought about it...but figured I could just peel it off at anytime...

 

I did that with my v8 badge and the emblem, but my emblem broke and fell off when I was offroading

 

That looks nice! how the hell did it fall off?!? Ive never heard of that happening!

 

I was pulling it off when i was sanding and painting it, and one of the little tabs broke off. My friend tryed some type of glue, but it didn't work and fell of when I was driving

Just curious on how this scoop being open will effect the mechanicals? Seems like water will drop right down onto the starter and mess it up?

 

My boy is 15 months, rear facing in the middle of my 02. Fits just fine but I’m 5’9”, a lot of it depends on car seat choice too. His is quite robust.

 

Congrats!! I very much enjoy mine. I adjusted mine a tad when I got them. It’s very easy. No need for their tool. Find a punch that fits in there and turn it with that. No need for the $25 tool. It should be fairly easy to turn but if not I usually give the collar some wd-40 to help loosen it up.

If you have a driver or even a passenger side lean you’ll be able to adjust accordingly once they’re on the truck. If you have any questions just let me know. Happy to help!

 

After finding out the shipping was going to be near $20 for some $62 pieces of rubber ($82 total), I decided to look for alternatives.

Found some ‘CleverDelights’ rubber plugs 8 pack for $20 total.

I’ll make my own bumpstops and report back. First things first: See/feel the quality of the rubber density. Next plan is to use a 2 part organic based epoxy to adhere the new ‘CleverDelights’ to the OEM rock hard pancake bumpstop.

Its a $20 gamble, but... if it works I’ll have (2) sets of 4 bump stops. Two for each control arm and 4 extras for the future. No need to remove anything or wrestle installing with an Allen Wrench.

 

My car seat was the back window of a Monte Carlo. Great for tanning.

It was a dark bronze or brown color from a vague memory. Can’t remember the shape or year. Early 70’s ish.
