Operation “No-Mo-Chrome” has begun. Grill/bulge and mirror caps have been ordered. I couldn’t pass them up since they were on sale.

I decided to just paint the bumper caps. I had enough primer and clear left over from a motorcycle project. A 1/2 pint of the Barcelona red was $59! Seems like a lot.

Super windy day down here in Corpus, so I’ll have some trash to sand out but overall they turned out great. I will reassemble tomorrow and continue anxiously waiting on my big box from Roman. 7D851881-FC89-45A7-97C2-552D65738B39.jpg821855D3-789B-4F76-B1D6-71695D2C4953.jpgC916D5DA-1D1D-46EE-80CD-B170B638155D.jpg

Thanks man. It’s strictly a hobby for me. I can’t imagine a shop charging more than a couple hundred, but that’s a total guess

I honestly don’t know which “Model” it is or the coating. It is a Magnaflow dual in/dual out. I just told the shop I wanted something that sounded good on acceleration with minimal drone and this is the one they recommended. Sounds exactly like I wanted and looks pretty good as well.

Sanded the shit out of it:)

Started with 80 grit and stopped at 220. Copper was showing through in most places. Then I sealed it with epoxy sealer, then base and clear

Tnx Rob. It's actually not painted, it's wrapped. I wrapped both of them in matte black. I have a piece leftover downstairs if u need me to take a look at the details. But theres bunch of wrap manufacturers out there and they all pretty similar.

If u do decide to give it a try 1 bit of advice I can give is to make sure u go completely under and around. Don't stop at bottom edge or it can pull up. If u don't feel comfortable u can always take it to a place and for around $40 bucks they can do it.

When I had my wheels powder coated I wanted them to be a shade darker than cement gray, but it ended up being the opposite and came out a tad lighter.

I've had pretty good experiences with plastidip so as long as the product was applied appropriately under the right conditions so I played around with their smoke dip, but I'll probably peel it off during the weekend. Thought it would darken or "tint" the wheel, but it ended up just turning a shade lighter than black (and how I actually took delivery of them). (Not a fan of all black wheels).

I'm gonna play a little more and throw some metalizer on top. That should lighten the overall look. If I dont achieve the look I was going for, then off you go.

I think it looks great! Overall truck looks good, too. What kind of wheels are those and what size tires are you running?
