I've read that you really do need an alignment almost immediately after installing a lift. I plan on installing a 3" lift on front so I know I'll need an alignment.

But my question is, suppose I jump up in tire size (probably 1" to 1.5") a couple months after lift and alignment, do I need to get it aligned again? TIA

It wouldn't hurt to at least have it checked after install new tires. Depending on where you get the alignment done, it will come with a warranty (usually about 6 months). Some places offer a lifetime alignment for as long as you own the vehicle.

Definitely will check into! I just want to get the lift put on first to see what kind of space I'm looking at for tires. Thanks.

I always mark my cam tabs after an alignment. Most alignment places don't torque them down enough and can easily shift, especially offroading. I personally wouldn't pay to do it again after just changing tires, as long as your marks haven't moved.

I would not either unless I knew I had hit something hard enough to knock alignment off.

I’d say helps to get a 2nd alignment in the event the new lift settles a bit more a few weeks after the initial install. As for getting one after going up in tire size, I don’t think a larger tire would necessarily affect suspension angles, but it wouldn’t hurt to get one nonetheless.

True, but some Firestone shops offer “all-you-can-eat” lifetime alignments if you pay a premium. I paid $199 for it last year and got an alignment after suspension install and then got another one a few weeks later to accomodate for any settling.

Gonna have to look into that cause I figure it may settle and also a single time is what 95, so not a bad deal.
