My "grocery getter" does more work than about 85% of the "real trucks" around my area. Everyone knows they aren't going to be hot shotting with their tundra and a 40' float trailer day in and day out. The Tundra does an exceptional job for what it is rated for...

Our non real truck Tundras spend more hours working or at the job site because the real trucks are always spending too much time in the service bay.

Gun boats are pretty light. If it's heavy, that truck is likely overloaded, like a few trucks in this thread. Call me crazy but I'm not too comfortable above 80% rated capacity, because marketing. Unfortunately we cant change the payload and towing limits set by Toyota (DOT?) of our vehicles. It is what it is. Our crappy gearing is what makes much of the 10k possible. An extra 2500# above our current rated limit would go a long way...

I believe that the 10k tow rating is actually conservative, if you know how to drive with a trailer you can exceed that by quite a bit. Typically the safety factor is already built into the specs. Also comparing a half ton to a 1 ton is apples to oranges. My 2 cents

you're kidding me right?? it's not about pulling my friend, it's about stopping.
Furthermore, if you are involved in a traffic accident while pulling over rated limit, liability is not going to be in your favor. That is just stupid,
"knowing how to drive" or not... The same goes for the weight limit rating of the hitch, ball, coupler, all must be adhered to.

It's gross negligence. Are you willing to bet your hard earned company, and assets on that during a lawsuit? im not.

Well you have your opinion, if you have trailer brakes you should be able to stop no problem. Again just my opinion

Most of the f250’s and 350’s don’t even have 4:30 rears in them. They usually get 3:73’s

I agree towing my trailer that is 7700 lbs dry. Loaded was probably 9k+, with a family of 5 and 2 dogs that combine weigh 140 lbs, we drove 500 miles each way, no issues. Dual axle brakes on the trailer, had no problem stopping quickly when traffic 65 mph came to a sudden stop, it was like the trailer was not even behind me. Funny part was we came out of a construction zone one lane and a Prius tried to pass on the left when it went back to 2 lanes. I looked at the wife and said lets see what shes really got. Pushed it to the floor and left the Prius in the dust. I cant believe the power of the 5.7l, total weight had to be over 15-16k total( truck passengers and trailer)

I am so glad I traded my 2012 F150 ecoboost for the 2015 Tundra never looking back

No pictures, but I know the 5.5' bed on my CrewMax will hold two generous yards of single-hammered hardwood mulch. Again, and again, and again...... I had no idea how many flower beds the new house has.

The bed was full of furniture in addition to a full trailer. Gotta love airbags!

Listen bro, you are comparing a 1/2 ton to a 1 ton,
not a fair comparison. You are basically saying that because a half ton can't do what your 1 ton does it's not a " real truck" . Comparing a Diesel to a gasoline engine, and not only that but letting what a truck can tow or haul be the primary reason it should be called a" real truck"! I hate to tell ya bro, but there's more to a truck than what it can tow! Anyway if I compared your little ole 350 to a cab-over Peterbilt, you wouldn't have much of truck neither, and at least they both have Diesels! My point being, if you are going to compare trucks, then at least compare 1/2 ton to 1/2 ton, and when you do, you should realize that Tundra stands alone at the top of the hill ! And I think the point most of these guys are trying to make, is that, if needed they can over load, over work, and over drive their Tundra's and still go get the groceries without calling a tow truck first! Highly unlikely in another 1/2 ton!
