    Hello everyone,

I am currently inquiring about buying a 2007 Tundra SR5 double cab for about $15,500. I really was looking for a Tacoma however with being a general contractor I think the Tundra would fit my lifestyle much better. Also, I am a motorcycle enthusiast so I would like the extra bed room to fit a motorcycle or power to haul a trailer.

I had a couple of questions that I was hoping some of you may answer and shed some light on.

    1) Have you guys ran into any major issues in general with the 07 Tundra’s? If so, what were they and what should I keep an eye out for when looking at the truck when I go look at it this weekend. Also, if you had run into issues were they easy and cheap repairs or were they usually expensive? *If it helps it has about 105xxx miles on it.*

    2) Do you guys think $15,500 for an 07 Double Cab with 105xxx miles is a good deal? I know every market is different but I am just trying to get a feel for what is the average.

    3) If I buy the truck, is there anything that I should do such as modifications if they aren’t done that will help performance or durability?

    4) I know that Tacoma’s and 4Runners will pretty much last forever, how does Tundra live up to that?

I appreciate any and all help. I am really excited to possibly be buying my first truck. I currently own an 05 4Runner and 11 Ford Escape (which I would be trading in).

Introduction : I am 27 years old from Memphis TN. I moved down here 2 years ago from Allentown PA. As mentioned earlier I am a motorcycle enthusiast (Sportbike Rider, maybe soon to be HD rider lol). I’m a general contractor hence my reason for looking for a truck be it a Tundra or Tacoma.

    Thanks again everyone.

Welcome from Obx, 08 here. AIP ( air injection pumps) were a major problem. It wasn't a recall, but Toyota saw it as a major problem and offered a extended warranty- 10 years or 150k miles. Unfortunately your time is up. I would most definitely see if that warranted work was done already. There is also a bypass kit that's out there. I'll try finding it. 105k miles is somewhat low miles, but 15,500 is a little high. Tundra would have to be in superb shape. Any aftermarket mods? Lift, wheels, tires, lights, spray in bedliner, etc. Pics of Tundra?

Welcome from CO. My 07 has had no major issues at 96K. No AIP failure or cam tower leak. Super reliable truck so far. KBB with your mileage, year, and stock runs from 14.5K to 16.5K private party here in my zip code depending on options and condition

So, Unfortunately they had just gotten back to me this morning about my inquiry and said that it was sold a couple days ago. It did have a matching bed canopy (like an ARE) *I don’t know their real name lol* and sprayed in bed liner. They had a pioneer head unit. And that’s pretty much it as far as aftermarket parts. Like I said, they have sold it since but at least I know what to look out for with that year. Someone just offered to sell me a 09 Tundra Limited with a bunch of aftermarket parts for 20K. So I may look into that as my price range was up to 18K.

I can respect that. I know a lot of people whom walked away from the sport because of their families. I actually own a 2015 CBR600RR and love how lightweight it is. I used to own 2 GSXR’s before it so I can appreciate how reliable it is. I appreciate the welcome.

Sorry to hear that. There's a good deal out there, I wouldn't rush, unless of course you need one asap. You should be able to find one in great shape @ that price point. Good luck, and post pics

Definitely won’t be rushing into anything unless it’s a fantastic deal. I have come across some within my price range.

One that I am looking at is a 2011 DC SR5 with 135 miles for 18k. It has some modifications..

    Hey guys,

I have found a couple of Tundras well within my price range. The one that stands out most is this one, what are your thoughts?

2010 Tundra CM Limited 173k Miles asking $17k.

I put a lot of miles on my vehicles with my job at the moment. I take good care of my vehicles but how long do Tundras typically last for?

I got 19500 trade in for my 10 with 3” lift and about 92k miles. They listed it for 26000 but lowered to 24500 then it was gone not long after. Just a comparison.

Also, welcome. I’m from cville. About an hour N of Memphis. But haven’t lived there for years.
