So I have a slight dilemma that I would like some help with. I swapped to chrome handles and mirrors after purchasing the truck due to the all chrome grills on the 16s. I just scored a killer deal on the following in black-brush guard, steps, all the emblems (brand new full set)and a pro grill. So do I swap the handles and mirrors back to black or not. I'm leaving the chrome front surround just using the pro insert leaving the front bumper chrome and adding chrome rears IMG_2558.jpg

You should know; most folks 'round here, myself included, f***in' hate chrome. My vote goes to black.

I personally didn't like the chrome on my 16. But I think the most important part is to keep the entire truck flow with one certain look. If you like the chrome then keep it and don't deviate from that. If you have some color matched or black parts then chrome it just doesn't flow together. Keep the wheels and any accessories on the similar path of chrome or shiny. Hope that helps and it's your truck so build it exactly how YOU want!

I like chrome on some trucks but handles and mirror chrome just looks too ghetto to me and black looks better on a light colored truck IMO

Have you ever heard anyone say, "once you go chrome you never no back"?

I do like a little chrome as an accent but chrome everything to me is tacky.

I like chrome. Especially on Blue Ribbon Metallic.
However, the only off road this truck will see is a grass parking lot.
Ordering chrome Tundra inserts as well. Ghetto? I think not. Classy? Most definitely.

I do like the chrome on the blue, something about it on the silver I just haven't been able to get into it. now with all the black accessories I'm lean towards switching it back

Back in the '70s I had a '67 shovelhead and for me my buddies you just kept pulling pieces off every month or so and getting it chromed. Sprocket cover, triple trees, carburetor bowl, etc...left the tank and fenders black though.

I think you gotta go with what you like. I like chrome on a silver truck. It actually looks color-matched.

I think forums like this one is highly slanted toward blacked out look, which I happen to think is a fad. Why do I think that? Just look at the trucks that are produced today.

Having said that, I do like Inferno color with black trims. Perhaps I've been influenced by the original Pro look.

Yeah on my 14 I had the black handles and mirrors and didn't mind but always thought the chrome would look better that's why I negotiated (figured I'd give it shot and it worked)to get a set of chromes when I bought my 16
Now that I added a black brush guard and black steps I'm not sure. I also have a full black emblem kit and soon to be installing the pro insert. Really as easy as they are to swap I may put them on and see. On a side note as my wife professes and most likely true I'm OCD and I have noticed the chrome handles and mirrors show so much crap. That's why I love silver in the the first place, dead of winter and still looks clean. Hence the reason I own 3 silver vehicles.
