As an aside one trend in the jeep world lately is LCOG builds. Big tires with minimal lift and cut fenders

Your example shows a formula for cgh. The center of the objects weight distribution (center of gravity) is unchanged by wheel offset.

With a wider wheel stance the center of gravity is not lowered..which was your original premise.

That said...obviously a wider stance will make the vehicle less likely to tip.

The interesting thing to me was the post below which you were referencing.
Didn't realize wheel offset/wider stance was so hard on wheel bearings.

Negative offset moves the wheel outward, positive offset moves the wheel inward.

Is the front spacer one that goes on the shock? I'm sorry for all the questions, am a bit of a noob when it comes to my truck. Was driving a Mustang GT before I opened my eyes to the promised land. I'd really like to get my sight set on the proper lift before pulling the trigger.

Just curious. Has anyone tried aftermarket mudflaps like weather tech to see if they rub with 35’s? It looks like it sits differently where you don’t get that part sticking out that rub all the time.

4" 's ENOUGH? I have some fuel 20"x 10 with a neg 12 offset and 35" x 12.50 tires on the way.. I have a quote for a 4" tough country lift but I'm wondering if it will be enough. The lower fender plastic has all ready been shaved for the 22" rims with 33" x 12.50 's it came with. Hoping to avoid a 6" lift. Advice?.......

I’m on 12.5 on stock wheels and I had to install spacers. You sir are correct.

Think you could have gotten away without spacers if you would have run 11.5?

Just measured for ya. I have 1 1/8” of room and am running 1 1/2” spacers. If I was on 11.5” wides, I would have 1 5/8” room with the spacers equals 1/8”. Pretty tight. With that much space simple alignment could make the difference of touch or not.

On my 2012 I ran 12.5's on stock wheels with only a front level, skid plate trim, and a little front inner mudflap trimming. No issues. I do think the KO2s are a little narrower than 12.5 in real life though.

Oh and the speedo calibrator is a must.

Thanks brother. I think it's too close for comfort. What do you think about spacers. didn't have a choice or have no problem with them?

Man, I just don't know. I was two seconds thinking it was too close but then read your post. I've got a '13 and I'm only looking at running 11.22 wide. You had stock rims, stock UCAs? How much lift?

At 11.22 wide you're totally in the clear. I had stock wheels and stock UCA's with 2" front coil spacers. I ran 305/65r18 for the first 60k miles and then up'd it to 35x12.50r18, and those have 30k miles and counting.

    In sig
1.25” spacers to keep from rubbing the UCA, or wheels with a +18 to +25 offset, 5.75” of backspacing is generally the sweet spot for minimal rubbing. Potentially a CMC as well.
