My brother in law has a new 1500 not the Rebel, but he has had it for 4 months or so, it's been in the shop twice, most recently for some major recalls where they said they would have his truck for 2+ weeks. My wife owns a Pacifica van and as much as we love the vehicle it self, the reliability is horrible. In two years, we've already replaced the battery, tires, electronic parts for the tailgate and have had many reset issues with the uconnect screen. Just my 2 cents

If I could get a new one every year, yes. Questionable reliability means I’ll never put money in and customize, what fun is that?

RAMs are nice but they’re Dodges, and all their other vehicles don’t last.

Reliability probably doesn't matter much if you're trading out vehicles every 5 years or so. Just make sure you get a good price so you dont take it in the shorts on depreciation. Tundra and RAM are both way over inflated on MSRP.... Tundra because of the competition and RAM because thats just how the Big 3 rolls.

Resale value is a comparative thing...go search what 1 or 2 year old used ones are listing for...NOTE: list price isnt representative of a sales price. Dealers typically inflate list price to start. Just because a used Tundra Tacoma or Ram [insert model of vehicle here] is listed for 35k doesnt mean you should pay 35k....

Almost bought a RAM 2y ago but it was sold. Thank god, I’d be on a different forum arguing with everyone and asking “what is this sound”, or “what does this combination of dash lights mean” every other week.

Instead I’m socializing here and my truck starts every day.

Before crossing over to my 2017 1794 Tundra I owned a Ram. I bought the Ram new in 2012. It was a 1500 regular cab 4x4 sport. I liked the truck and in the 5 years I owned the only thing that broke was the wiper switch in the steering column. I decided it was time for a crew cab so my family could ride in either car. It was either going to be another Ram or a Tundra, (they are the only 2 that would fit in my garage lol). I also think they are the 2 best looking truck body styles on the road, or at least they were until Ram just changed theirs and I now hate it. The only pro for the Ram is mine had way more acceleration than my current Tundra, like night and day difference. Nothing the pedal commander couldn’t fix. I have grown to love my tundra even before mods and would never drive another truck brand unless the tundra goes electric. My 2017 only has 9400 miles so I can probably get 15 years out of it anyway!

    Not nearly enough room here!
I remember joining a F-150 Forum years ago, while shopping for a 2010 model. Asked a simple question about engine timing belts or chains. Mentioned looking at the Tundra as well as F-150. Had to do a Google Search, to find out the meaning of some of the names I was called!:eek2::rolleyes::devil: You WON'T get that here.:oldglory:

Had a Durango once and in the 3 years I owned it, I had:

    • A valve spring break
    • Main computer died and the truck sat at the dealer for over a month waiting for a new one to be shipped in from overseas
    • And the kicker which did it in for me was the front driver wheel literally fell off. Luckily was in a parking lot when it happened
Traded it in and swore to never touch another dodge/Chrysler

also look at aftermarket. It's pretty big on Toyotas imo. I think we are right behind the Jeep guys. That's a big plus.
Not sure how often you can pick a set of used KINGs for the RAM rebel vs Toyotas.

Same for me. I drive a Voodoo Blue TRD Pro. I have seen exactly two (2019) white and one Voodoo Blue Pros this year that were not on a dealership’s lot. I cannot count how many Raptors and Ram Rebels I have seen this month. That does not make the Tundra a better truck, but it does make me feel as though I have something special.

Sounds like you just made up your own mind.
BTW...Cylinder deactivation should NOT be viewed as a positive feature.

Had a 12 ram 1500 crew cab 4x4 express for three years. Never had one problem with. Only thing I changed were wipers and brakes. And of course bilsteins and 35s. Only reason got rid of it because someone t boned me and totaled it

Buy the Ram. Then, we can listen to you moan and bitch about what a stupid ass idea it was until you sell it.

OR, maybe buying a Ram really IS a good idea ...

Picking a new truck is hard....they are all so nice with only 14 miles.
Ive driven 2016 6speed manual Cummins 2500 and 2018 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7 and the 2019 Ram. They were all nice, tight trucks with under 40k miles. I think they are building a better product than 10 years ago, but so is Ford...GM not so much...
If you want a Dodge/Ram just wait for a 2 year old lease return, the resale value is atrocious.
