i just did the same thing making my little power panel for the back of the truck. measured everything twice but cut it upside down so the bottom became the top. wife laughed at me. daughters laughed at me. my response?

then i realized i was home, pulled out the second sheet of aluminum i had bought and started over.

Don’t beat yourself up over it. There’s a reason the phrase “measure twice cut once” exists. It’s because we ALL do that sort of thing from time to time. It’s a real downer on the ol’ ego though.

The funny thing is that these things make the best stories down the road. So look at it as “bar conversation” for later.

I was thinking about cutting mine next time I have it off. Does anyone have the measurements from the edges of the skid plate?

I just orderd a new TRD skid. If I was closer I would donate my factory one to you just for manning up and showing your mistake for all to see.

    Not nearly enough room here!
Using my truck for 'skidding' ain't happening. It's been a pavement princess/garage queen, since I bought it new in 2010.

It just occurred to me every now and again, I pull my truck through the back yard to enter the garage (door on each end) does that count for "off- roading"?:D

If it is not on a road, it is off road :)

I wanted to baby mine for a while but thought if I did that I would be pissed at the first scratch.
That and I had to see what the fuss was about on the shocks. I was impressed.

Adapt and Conquer; add cover plates and hinge the driver side. :notsure:

Plus it will match the center bumper valance. They'll sell like hot cakes.
