I noticed that too...and the fact that the rear looks like it's missing a lug nut!

I didn't catch the missing lug nut. That wheel/ tire size looks like it belongs on a Yaris.

I'm wondering what they are trying to hide with that rear-skirting.....I'm guessing parts of Hybrid-drive...?

That would get me considering a new Tundra again. I sold a 2017 Tacoma and was this close to buying a 2019 Tundra but it was just too damn big and I lucked out and found my cherry low mileage 2006 which is the perfect size.

26 gallons...that is one thing I'd like from a 3rd gen, that 38 gallon tank...

Ya I wish I had the 38gal too.

I suspect the body styling/shape will look quite a bit different from what we see in that picture. That truck looks like a very, very rough prototype, I'd bet the cabin won't be shaped the same.

Anxiously awaiting the look. If they keep the big goofy body style, then this 02’ will be in my life for another 30 years probably. Only thing I like about the newer Tundras is that 5.7L engine to drool for.

1st Gens are like the B-52’s of airplanes. They can’t be replaced and can be upgraded very easily.

Toyota needs to step up their game when it comes to fuel economy. The MPG on the new Tundras is embarrassing. I'm curious to see what the new platform looks like.

When I get home I'm gonna make some plastic crap just like that for my truck and drive around all incognito. Let's see how long before somebody takes pics and thinks it's a prototype.

Love the tassels by the way.

Would make sense to downsize if they want milage. The sixth lug might indicate a higher payload and tow capacity though :transformer:

The F-150 has always been Toyota's target, so that makes sense.

They really aren't all that far off other half tons, considering they aren't running and 8 or 10 speed transmissions with cylinder deactivation. Those gimmicks are maybe eking out another 1 or 2 MPG's at best. And consider that it could always be worse - a guy I work with got himself a beautiful Dodge RAM 2500 Power Wagon with the larger 6.4 Hemi. He said he is getting 9 MPG and once actually got it up to 13 MPG on the highway. Granted, it's a 3/4 ton truck, but still.....

Seems we have seen this pic circulated before. Makes me wonder if they are experimenting with sound deadening vinyl or wraps in lieu of paint. LOL

My 2 cents. I don't think it looks any smaller. I think the bed looks taller giving the overall size of the truck appearance being smaller. Optical allusion of sorts. Same reason the moon looks huge on the horizon.....sorry that's my worthless psychology degree coming into play.

My old ecoboost melted two pistons at 32000km. It was warrantied for a long block engine replacement for $27000. I sold it as soon as I picked it up.

Personally I only would like to see one thing change make a 3/4 ton truck with a diesel. I dont even care if it's even called a tundra anymore. That would fit my needs just fine.
