Hello everyone! I just recently traded in my 2011 highlander for a new platinum tundra and couldn’t love it more. It’s my first truck I’ve owned so was just looking for some advice/help/or feedback! I’ll probably start with rims and tires. What’s the smoothest riding all terrain tire? Heard mixed reviews on the nittos. Rims are over whelming. Hard to know the difference between the brands/quality as well as what they actually look like in person on the truck. I usually search this thread for photos of rim/tire combos I like. Thanks for the help! I’ll drop a photo of my truck.

Welcome. Nice ride, although it’s not the best color and I think we all know what the real truth is right? You are going to enjoy this truck and you will be asking yourself why you didn’t get one sooner. This site is going to drain your bank account so surfing in moderation is probably the best advice

I’ve had Nittos before and enjoyed them. Currently have the BFGs, no complaints with them either. I know that is not much help but, my 0.02. Welcome to the club/addiction.

I have Ridge Grapplers on my truck and have no issues with hem
My wife has Terra Grapplers on her 4Runner and happy with them as well.
I’ve also had no issues with Toyo Open Country’s in the past

Welcome! I’ve had various all terrain tires on my older tundra. The nittos ridge grapplers are expensive but I really think they are great for majority on road/highway driving and light trail/ off-roading. You probably want to look at mostly hybrid all terrain tires. The hybrids have thicker tread patterns to accommodate quieter road driving while still maintaining off-roading capabilities.

I had the Nitto terra grapplers and they are noisier than the ridge grapplers, especially when the tread starts wearing down. You should also look into the falken at3w, Toyo open country at2 and Kumho road venture at51.

A majority of the rims are made the same way and made in China. So at that point you should just choose what looks good to you. Not saying there aren’t quality rims, just if you’re looking for quality, you’re gonna pay. A good source of info on rims and tires is a YouTube channel, custom offsets. In any case, what’s important to you is different than anyone else so you gotta decide what you really want and go from there.

Sorry for writing you a damn book, but I hope this can help you out.
