Can anybody tell me if the TRD skid will fit a 2nd gen? Maybe with a little mod? I haven't really found a definitive answer.

    Thanks

I know this isn’t an answer but I don’t see why it wouldn’t.

Kinda what I'm thinking too. I don't think there's a lot of difference underneath between '07 and current bit I'm no expert either.

The only thing I know that are different, is the spindles. They changed them in 2016

I don’t think it will. The 2nd gen skid plate part number is PT21234071 and it looks a lot different then the 3rd gen one, even the bolt holes look different...

I guess if they run the sale again I'll pick one up and give it a go. If it doesn't work out, off it goes to CL.

    Well, then there's this

Anyone in Tucson want to loan me their TRD skid for an hour or two?

Well, I had good luck this morning. Precision Toyota of Tucson called about 8:30am and said my order is ready for pickup. I was surprised when my wife said go ahead and get it... Should have been 2 hrs each way, but they had the freeway closed along the way which took me on a 45 min detour. Made it there and back in about 5 hrs. Hoping I can find some time today to at least install the CAI. The exhaust will have to wait until next weekend. The parts guy said they delivered a full semi load this morning and the driver said there is another one on it's way! Apparently they had so many orders that they couldn't fit everything into one load. He said they pretty much cleared out the LA warehouse from the sale.

Of course, I threw the TRD center caps and oil cap on first thing after getting home since those only took about 5 mins to install. I'll post up some pics when it's all done.

Hope everyone elses orders are on the way.

Just installed the cold air intake. Really simple and only took an hour start to finish. There is a small gap between the top and bottom of the filter housing. The instructions show this same gap in the picture. Is this normal?

Looks like exhausts were selling like hot cakes. Got mine installed today, it took longer than expected and now I just need to get used to the louder road noise.:)

The RCI skid plate has the same p/n for 07-19. Not sure why theirs would and Toyota would not?

Well I have this bad boy sitting in my garage, anyone in so Cali is welcome to come see if it fits, if it does, I’ll give you a killer deal on it! ;);)

I took my time and at snails’ pace so you will probably can do it under 5 hours. Installing the left driver’s side rear bracket was a bit frustrating.

Thought removing the rubber hangers would be tough but it well fairly quick with a tie rod fork

Thanks Rob, just saw your FS post. Let me see who from Tucson is headed up to T2S. Maybe I can arrange a Tundra express package delivery back to Tucson.

BTW, lived in Sacramento (Rocklin mostly) for 20 years. Nice area. Moved down here in '96.
