I’ve seen several sr5s at my local dealership that were customized inside out, and they looked way better than a standard trdpro. Plus, they were lifted, had King or Toytec upgraded suspension systems. So, I’m sure that their performance are just about the same or even better than a standard pro.

I personally upgraded my Pro when I first bought it. I changed my suspension, seat covers, wheels and tires, lighting, and of course, I added a Magnuson sc.

For all 4 king shocks no adjusters it was $2100 for me, good price and well worth the money, plush on the street and comfortable high speed off-road you can rebuild them yourself. I’m old, 32 specifically and the more I age the more I see unnecessary shit I don’t need. I needed the Kings cuz I speed off-road and wanted a long lasting setup, I don’t need stereo system it’s loud enough for me(2014 limited) I don’t need people to hear my music it’s for me not them. I’m saving money not buying shit the truck doesn’t need all to impress other people, maybe when there’s a good enough budget I’d get smaller wheels and tires but I’m happy with my truck for now. Don’t get sucked in to buying “pro”, as others have said sr5 and upgrade saves you $$$

I'm building this truck for me. When I say I'd like to upgrade the audio system, I don't mean with lots of bass/big speakers. I just want high quality/high clarity speakers and a nice headunit. A tiny amount of base for the really low bass wouldn't be bad but I'd be embarrassed to have people outside the truck hearing me. I'm old too, I have no need to be heard. Now, I wouldn't mind if my truck draws a little attention but not in a loud, over-the-top kind of way.

Yeah bro anytime, gotta give credit where it's due!! I just built a mall crawler haha but happy with it. I used to have a great little taco with kings, all pro's all the goodies but my wheeling days are over sad to say. However, your truck looks better than a pro and I bet rides twice as nice on and off road.

I could put this in a dedicated post or do some searches (which I'll still do) but I wanted to ask: what shocks are recommended for 80/20 or even 90/10 road/offroad? I'm not doing anything wild. I just want to handle the poor midwestern roads with ease, eliminate trunk rattle/shake and make driving as enjoyable as possible.

I'm also looking for a 1.5-2+ lift in the front and level/slight rake (for towing).

All suggestions are appreciated (and I'm keeping a list/spreadsheet of all updates needed). This is an entire new world for me so all the help/suggestions are needed.

    Bilstein 5100s will be fine

Same here came from the Tacoma world...it rises nice a little stiff but in a good way.
