There is going to be a production run of P&P Engineering sliders for the 3rd Gen Tundra Crew max. Just how many units will be run off will depend on how strong the demand.

Slider construction is 3/16" wall 2x2 square tube, .120 wall DOM, 5/16" plate brackets, 1/4" frame backing plates, and 5/8" grade 8 hardware. These are 100% bolt on to existing holes. No drilling or welding required.

Builds will start Monday 10/17 and should complete by Friday 10/28. Overwhelming response may require a longer build out time. Bare orders will ship at the end of the production run, powder coated items will be taken to powder at the end of the production run as a batch. Powder coat will take 7-10 days then powder coated items will ship as soon as we can get them packaged and shipped.

Shipping options will be FedEx Ground, or freight to a local terminal, commercial address, or home delivery (typically an additional $100 charge)

 

these should fit 2nd gen as well right?

 

I can't say that for certain without having a truck come to the shop for a test fit - have only had 15's & 16's in so far - but as I understand it the frame is the same back to 2007.

 

These are way better than All-Pro's sliders. For anyone looking for good sliders, these are a pretty good alternative to WKOR sliders if you don't need something super beefy (WKOR's have thicker walls and have under-frame mounting). If these came out earlier, I definitely would've hopped on one.

 

I appreciate that @Spvrtan. Your comment give me some opportunity to point out a few things about our sliders.

WKOR makes a good product but I would (and do) put my sliders up against theirs in any situation. I compete with WKOR in the Nissan market and don't have any issues with not running a bracket under the frame in that application. I've built several hundred pairs of sliders this way. Our mounting system uses a high strength steel pin that sleeves the holes in the frame and has a large packing pad - this is much better than simply sticking a bolt through the hole, IMO. The shock load is carried by the brackets not the bolt.

As far as wall thickness goes I have 2 comments. First we could absolutely make a heavy set with thicker material if the customer desired just like WKOR offers. But second I realize the Tundra is a heavy, long truck and can generate a lot of power/force but I'm confident in the product. The wall thicknesses we chose for our sliders off the rack were intentional based on experience and calculations with plenty of safety factor. For example in a beam calculation - I realize that's not exactly what we're doing here but it's an easy example and is similar - 2" square tube with a 7 gauge wall (.180) vs 5 gauge (.220) only carries 13% less load over a 17" span but weighs 22% less. The load capacity over that span for the 7 gauge tubing is near double the highest curb weight.

 

These are some nice sliders, wish they made them for Tacomas

 

They will be. tacos and 4Runners are next up when we can get them scheduled into the shop.

D'oh! That should be in the OP. These are 100% bolt on to existing holes. No drilling or welding required.

 

Sorry I am not willing to do that. I don't fell comfortable having that information and our shipping price reflects the cost of shipping and time required to package them up.

 

If there is anyone in the Indianapolis region with a 2nd gen, DC, or a combination of both...I'd be happy to test fit mine on them. Help with the wrenching is required as these puppies are heavy.

 

Are the pics on the MGM TRD bare steel?

 

The first ones yes, the ones in the woods are painted black.

Hey mac11, great looking product. I have a 2015 CM. Is it possible to do any customizing to the sliders or are they pretty much set at your jigs. Wondering if you could bring the fwd tube all the way back and not the punched out step at the rear door. ( so the front and back looked identical ) Also have the dimple die plate do a full coverage all the way to the ends ? Just curious what the other options are. Thanks much..........

 

That is so not a problem that I already have an item up for that on the website. I have not made any in that style for the Tundra yet as we are just getting the opportunity to branch out but we have pictures on our site of this style for the Nissan Xterra and Frontier and do may sliders that way for those guys.

The answer is yes for an additional fee to cover the increased cost of materials.

I'll do anything you're willing to pay for but Just out of curiosity why would you get them in stainless and then powder cost over them?
