driver rear brake dragging

    hey recently my left rear brake has been dragging and smells delicious. ive never had this issue b4 and i am slightly pissed because i have probably burnt up a expensive rotor but anyway. anyone else had this issue. is it dirty rusty cable or vsc taking a crap?

    Things happen. Caliper piston face/s can get damaged by a badly worn down rotor.

    never ran the brakes down to oblivion either. im ocd about my truck. im gonna play with the ebrak some and see what gives

    Yeah ....you would definitely hear some real crazy shit going on. Good idea about the Ebrake. I know mine needs adjusting. Checking that out this weekend. :thumbsup:

    i just messed with the cable a lil about to drive it and see. i hope its not a caliper like you said. cause when i was messing with it it dawned on me that the area getting hot is the rotor side not in the hat

    Have you tried backing off the parking brake shoes by adjusting the star adjuster?

    Check the ebrake mechanism under the driver side back seat. Mine got corroded and locked up the driver side ebrake causing vibration and heat on that wheel. See if it’s sticky and clean lube it. That took care of mine. Lube it now every year.
