2017 Toyota Tundra sr5 TRD off-road

I’m planning to replace the stock shocks on my Tundra but I need some suggestions about which one I need to install.
I read about the Billstein shocks but I don’t know which model I need for my 2017 Toyota Tundra crewmax 4x4

Really appreciate some guidance

Welcome from NC! Billsteins 5100 seem to be a popular choice. A lot of people also up that game with doing 5100s in the rear and going with 6112s up front.

I found on Amazon Bilstein 6112 struts and coils + rear 5100 shocks for Toyota Tundra and the price is $805.95

Can somebody tell me where to find the above shocks for a better price?

6112 are significantly more expensive. What’s your budget?

 

I believe the coils are costing extra. You can reuse your coils if not mistaken.

 

I don’t want to spend more that 800.. But if I can find the shocks for less...

 

If you want a 3/1 lift the eibach toytec kit is the best bang for your buck, its not adjustable but for $850 its a solid setup. And the coils come assembled If you want near stock ride height on the cheap end, the billie 5100 setup can be had for $350 ish and provide .8-2.5 ish inches of lift up front and 1 inch in the rear. They require dissembly of the stock coil and assembly of the new one with stock parts. Most people say they are sub par for offroad but if your rig is a street queen, then go for it.

If you wanna do some offroading the 6112/ 5160 setup will run you around $1100, you will get .75-2.5 in front and 1 in rear. Will require dissembly and reassembly but you get new coils.

What i would recommend is to save up a bit longer and get the Toytec Boss kit. Starts at $1300 ish, They are fully adjustable assembled front coils, from 0-3” in the front and 0-1” in the rear. Optional resis on the rear(itll cost a bit more). The best I could find on the rear 5100s was $142 at Amazon for the pair. So that's $690 delivered.

If you're patient, you can get some good deals. Granted, this was just before Black Friday, but I'd check ebay deals. If you stay on this site, some deal will inevitably pop up and you'll be spending money, but saving it too.

 

The 6112s come with new coils.

The only thing that isn’t included is a new top hat for the new shock and coil. You can either cannibalize your current coilover to get it (which requires compressing the spring and disassembling) or getting a new pair for $30ish at Napa. If you do the latter, your stock coilover will be intact for sale or replacement.

If I don’t want to cannibalize the one in the truck, what parts do I need to assemble the new one?

The lowest setting gives around 3/4 of a inch of lift.

Do you think that once I install the front shocks on the lowest settings the truck is going to look leveled?

 

I’m considering a similar setup but when I look at the specs on the 5100s, it indicates that it’s designed for 0-1in lift in rear. I’m currently running the ready lift SST 4in Front/2in Rear so not sure how that’s going to work.

No, you will need them to be set at the 1.9” setting which is the the setting just below the max setting which is 2.5”.
