I've searched and can't find a definitive answer. Finally got my truck sitting how I like it. 2.5" eibach /toytec coilovers with 2cb shims on the driver's side, 1 cb shim on the passenger side and a 1" block (planning on getting shackles soon). My question is do I need bump stop extensions for the front and should I install a diff drop and (or) carrier bearing drop kit?

Diff drop for sure. Someone with more experience will need to chime in for the carrier bearing and bump stops. I don’t have them but from what I’m reading they are beneficial.

Do you have a picture of your truck? I’m thinking of running that same exact set up suspension wise and would like to see how it sits.

I wouldn't advise using eibach /toytec coilovers. I wouldn't advise using toytec period. Go 6112s and buy from boss 4x4. Darren is awesome to deal with

Mine is at 2.5 with ds shim. I added diff drop. Some say not necessary, but some say do it for added insurance. I have stock uca if you are wondering with no issues for alignment. I got the +2cb shackle which had a carrier bearing drop with the order. My 6112 had a washer i believe for the bump stop ext.

Any particular reason why you wouldn’t recommend the eibach? I’ve always read they were a good set up for the money.

Diff drop and you are good....you can upgrade bump stops but that’s your choice

Eibach springs come with a lot of big name coilovers like my fox 2.5...make sure you get the right spring rate....700 I think is ideal for our trucks you can get away with 650

The eibach springs are nice, good ride. My main issue is with toytec. I ordered the eibach/toytec coilovers set at 2.5 and I didn't get near that amount of lift. Called toytec and they basically said oh well, your problem. I've purchased a ton of high end truck accessories, hunting equipment and shooting equipment and I've never been left hanging like that by a company. Very disappointing.

I sold my eibach /toytec coilovers and ended up ordering a set of 6112s from boss 4x4 and Darren was awesome to deal with.

I remember that post now. That was last week. you basically got 1.9" or so of lift. You sold those coilovers quickly! Glad you got the setup you wanted.

You don't "choose" your spring rate from toytec on assembled coilover packages. They're the experts, they should know. And if for some reason you did have to choose they should explain to you the best direction to go. They did none of that. Just took my money and said Goodluck.

A buddy of mine wanted them. He just wanted around a 2" lift so it worked out great. I gave him a great deal on them. Thanks for the help on that by the way sir.

A handful of people along with myself had this issue with icon. Stated you get up to a 3.5” lift at max thread depth. I only got 1.75” and so did a few others. The 600lb springs are not enough for our trucks. Icon gave us eibach 700lb springs to swap out for free and all is good.

I understand you don’t choose but you should look at what spring rate comes with the coilovers you are looking at and do some homework so you know if it will work or not....just because they work their doesn’t make them experts unfortunately. I’ll bet those toyotecs come with a 600 lb spring.

Really wish @toytec would step up and make it right....this has caused me alot of extra work, time and money. Luckily I do the install and work on my own.

exactly what I was saying you need a 700lb spring for our trucks 650 is pushing it....anything lower won’t give you the lift they advertise

If toytec wants to keep a good rep they should reimburse or send some free springs with the right rate your way.

They shouldn't advertise a 2.5" lift if it's not the correct spring to give you that lift. Period. There's no way around that. They need to deliver what they advertise and sell people.

For your original question OP get a diff drop...you won’t need anything else...you can upgrade bumpstops but not necessary

I agree. What frustrated me was how quickly they pushed it under the rug when I called and asked about it out of confusion, 3 times. I actually sent him a pm on here thinking if he knew I was a member he'd offer more help and got no response. Literally 15 minutes later he was telling a potential customer to call or pm him and he will help him order a kit.... Not so great customer service there.

Exactly what I said above they should make it right...they either have no clue what they are doing which is odd since they have been dealing with lifts and Toyota’s for quite sometime or it was a fluke who knows....a 600 lb is for a midsize truck like a Tacoma.
