    Title
SPECIAL SERVICE CAMPAIGN K0B (Remedy Notice) - Certain 2018 – 2019 Model Year Tacoma and Tundra - Millimeter Wave Radar Sensor
    Status
    Remedy Available
    Description
The involved vehicles are equipped with a Pre-Collision System (PCS) that may automatically apply the brakes if the system detects a potential collision. Due to the mounting of one of the system’s sensors, it is possible for water to enter the sensor. This can lead to PCS deactivation or inadvertent brake activation resulting in limited deceleration for a short duration of time.
    Remedy
Any authorized Toyota dealer will update the PCS software and apply sealer to the millimeter wave radar sensor in the front grille. In the rare case that the vehicle is currently exhibiting the condition, dealers will diagnose the sensor and replace the sensor, as necessary, FREE OF CHARGE.

    Status

    Description
The engine ECUs in the subject vehicles are equipped with software to monitor the rear oxygen sensors. Under a specific condition, this software may not detect a malfunctioning sensor due to an error in the software. I am going to try and get this applied on Saturday when I go in for the 5000 mile tire rotation. Did anyone's dealer give them crap for asking for this to be applied?

I called and got my service scheduled for Saturday. They show the recall for it and are going to apply it.

Got both the KOA and KOB recall in 2 separate mailings today. Won't schedule them for a few weeks so that the bugs get worked out.

If I go in each time I get a notice, I'll be pretty busy. Going to wait until they are sure they're done with all the recalls to do them all at once. So far I've collected three, KOH, KOA, and KOB. I have a feeling if I get them done now, another one will come in May or June lol.

I tried to get them both done today and found they had to order parts for the KOB recall.

K0A is software-only, K0B requires some high falutin duct tape to seal the back of the TSS-P. I was told that the orders are VIN specific.

Just received a voicemail from my dealer indicating I had 2 recalls for my truck. Jumped right on the forums and found this thread - Might wait a little while to see how it plays out before I schedule the service

Took my truck in for 5k service and they did the ECU recall, but now they are saying they have to keep my truck til Monday to get the parts for the sensor recall.

If you guys download the Toyota Owners application for your phone, and enter your Vin numbers, there is a screen to click on recalls to see if there is anything out there. With that being said, those recalls have been showing for about 3 weeeks in the app but not received mail.

I had scheduled to get my 5k service and the KOB recall done today. After an hour and half, they come out and tell me that the guy who usually messes with Tundra grills is off today and the one guy doesn't want to mess something up. Sounded to me they didn't want to fool with it on a Saturday. When I called on Monday to schedule it, I specifically asked if someone would be there to do the work and they told me 6 techs were capable.

Probably will try a different dealer for Toyota warranty stuff. If I get a survey email, I am definitely going to mention this.

Cool, just curious who you use. I do not have any experience with Rick McGill but have had similar experience with the other Toyota's dealer as well.

I'm probably going to try my luck at the Cookeville dealer since it's 30 minutes from me and McGill's is 1:15.

I have purchased 3 Toyota's from Toyota of Knoxville but it is always an ordeal and takes forever every time we go in there. Started taking the 4Runner to Fox Toyota and it has been really good. In and out quickly, do a really good job and know what they are doing. I have noticed I see the same people working there and not that much turnover compared to Toyota of Knoxville. No riff raft they just do what you ask and that is it. I started going there as it seems everyone I know goes there. Been really good so far.

To be honest I like doing my own maintenance and have been doing it myself but have them handle the larger stuff.

Really nothing bad to say about Toyota of Knoxville it just takes a long time and we usually have the kids with us and that makes it an adventure....

I have this recall also and coming up on my 10k Toyota. Are and will probably give Toyota Knoxville a shot first.

I was just told that they will not complete the KOB recall to my truck because it is not at the factory ride height and the sensor requires recalibration. They stated that this is direct from Toyota corporate.

I went in for my 5k service and told them I had trouble with the radar turning off in wet conditions. They applied KOB while I was there, no problem.
