    hello all,

Is this a good deal, should I pull the trigger?

I am trading in my 2016 Tacoma 2WD TRD off road DC, they want to give me $30,000! Went to CarMax for a appraisal and CM appraised it at $30,000 too!

I have a chance to order a 2017 Platinum Super White, 4X4 CM, under there Invoice and with their incentives for $46,818, I only owe $13,000 on the Tacoma so after all done and said I would pay after TT&L OTD around $32,000!

Only options I want is Spray on BL, USB dual rear lit outfits and read cargo LED!

I will see what they would charge for TRD Exhaust and TRD PRO Grill, would you think I should have them throw them in on a discounted price with the OTD price or install these 2 after I bring it home?

What do you think of the deal and add ons!

    Thanks

Tell em to add all the stuff you want for that price..

Edit: didn't see that it was a platinum, not sure what those typically go for. If your gonna be removing all the stuff that makes it a platinum you may look at the Sr5 as a cheaper option that will give you more $$ for mods!

    Is that the 5.7?

I paid $43k for my limited CM 4x4x 5.7 brand new. If it is the 5.7, go for it.

Thanks, yeah its a 5.7 loaded, I might have the dealer install the TRD Exhaust! I thought I could have them install at factory but wasn't an option!

    R4 Predator Step Tube $509.00 $689.00

Bed liner is a must like you said, LED lights is a pretty damn functional mod, the rest is personal preference. Unless you don't see anything else you like more, get them!

If they don't give you the grill and bulge for under 500 I wouldn't do it with them, dealer here wanted 400 just for grill. good price too, so good if you put dealers name it wouldn't be there tomorrow, haha

They want $1400.00 installed for the TRD Exhaust, that seams a bit high!

How much is it if you go to an exhaust shop? Are there comparable after markets for less? I really need to keep my Tacoma for 2 more years but my next truck will be a Tundra. 2 things could push my schedule up so I am kind of looking at options right now. If I cannot work a deal on a Pro which is my first choice then it will be a SR5 with some mods. Getting rid of that chrome on the front will be one of the first things I do. I did not know that a dealer would install the Pro grill for you or even sell it to you. When the Tacoma Baja came out you had to have valid VIN for a while to order the suspension parts.

He said he would do the TRD exhaust OTD for $1400, I sent him an email asking if he can through in a PRO grill and the cargo led bed lite and usb connectivity kit, I would do it! I'm sure he will say no way but its worth a try!

If I get the TRD Pro grill for my white platinum, then I wouldn't need the pro hood bulge, being my Platinum would be right, is that correct!

Just tell him either it's either in the deal or you'll continue looking. If he agrees tell him you'll sign now.

Correct. The Platinum hood bulge will be paint matched. FYI, I found the TRD exhaust on Ebay for around $1100 shipped. From a Fla Toyota dealer.

    Thanks McLovin

It seems straight forward and easy to install, I know it sounds stupid but if I did it would I have to get it tuned or hooked up to a machine or is it just bolt on and thats it!

I dont see any reason why it shouldn't simply bolt up and go. I installed a Magnaflow cat-back on my Tacoma straight from the box and it required nothing more. Hope this helps.

    Well,

I decided to add a spray on bedliner, cargo led light and the USB lit dual rear plug as options, they were at dealer cost adding up to a little over $600.00.

A couple weeks ago we were at invoice without these options at $46,818,

now I get the email saying invoice is now $48,650 with the $600.00 options added.

So without options and my trade and down payment including TT&L, the OTD price was $31,790.00

Now with the options including TT&L, now the OTD price is $33,735.00

    Does this sound right?

Here is the 1st and recent breakdown,

    Before Options added:

    2017 Platinum, Super-White Invoice: $46,818.00

    $30,000 - Trade-in

    $16,818

    $1,472 - TT&L

    $18,290

    $13,500

    $31,790.00 - Drive out including TT&L!

    Now, Today:

    Ordering the 4 x4 Platm. Tundra modle # 8377

    Invoice 48652

    adding bed light 189

    usb con kit 129

    spray in bed liner 429.

    Total 49400

    your discount SMCT - 1000

    REBATE - 750.

    your price 48650

    less unseen trade 30000

    difference 18650

    TT&L 1585

    total 20235

    payoff on trade 13500

    Drive out 33735

    Thats almost $1945.00 more?

My guess is you waited too long....couple of weeks ago was end of September, now it's the first week of October. There priorities might have changed? Might have been some incentive expired?

Ask to talk to GM if you're serious, show him the original quote and explain the option you want and the money you are willing to spend. If they can't do it, go elsewhere.

Good luck. Post a pic or two once you get it.

They are waffling. Tell them to go back to original quote or you walk.

Take their original quote and shop other dealers to see if they will meet it or beat it. Dealers don't sell and lose money, so you are bound to find someone hungrier who will take a lower margin to move.
