Fellow 1st Gen tundra owners. Just got the new Bilstein 5100s all around, fronts lifted to the 4th ring, Amazon $303 bucks. Also got the Hellwig sway bar installed ,truck corners tight with less body roll, Amazon $333 bucks. Found these 17" stock FJ Cruiser Wheels with Bridgestone tires off Craigslist for $500 bucks! I will run these for a few months then upgrade to slightly bigger tires and get her aligned. Probably get Cooper Dicoverer AT3 4S raised letters out since she's 2WD pavement queen. New AFE drop in dry air filter, she can now breath freely, Amazon $78 bucks, these are expensive! The truck is looking great and drives nice and smooth. A shout out to the "Professional Hand Model" for your advice on these upgrades! Next is the Flowmaster Delta Flow 50 cat back dual exhaust out the sides, cant wait! Of course a few other things purchased through Rock Auto, like blue led door panel and dome bulbs, cargo lights, license plate etc...My wife doesn't understand the money I continue to spend on the truck, but I reassure her about the reliability of the vehicle and how long it will last me, so I ask her to go buy something for herself and she leaves me alone for a while. Anyway, I really love the truck and spend hours detailing and improving it any way I can. The last image is from the original Craigslist post from where I first bought the truck. 1st generation Tundras rule! I will post some sound bites of the new exhaust system when it's installed.

Nice score on the Billy's for $303 for all 4. That is a steal! Almost makes it tempting enough just to pull the trigger on that! :)

Very nice 1st gen. I have the same bug as you. Upgrading parts as I go and explaining to my wife why it is worth it! I have 219,xxx on mine and it is my daily.

    Welcome to the forum!

    Truck looks great!

LOVE This above! Reminds me of a story. I used to buy and sell all kinds of stuff aside from my career for extra spending money. I always had cash. It came to head one day when she needed/wanted money and didn't have any. Quite the fight actually. My thought was why can't she do what I do? Anyway, in a nutshell, I ended up simply buying her off. Any big profit I would just split it with her. She had cash and shut her up and I could do my thing.

I don't do much wheeling and dealing anymore and she makes more money now thankfully.

Jeff, I hear you brother. I went out to look at a Tundra I had my eye on one day and my Wife tagged along. The dealer couldn't find the truck on their lot, so we drove to another lot to find it. Turns out it was still in detail and unavailable. But low and behold, they had her Lexus RX 350 she had always wanted. Long story short, I gave up my down payment so she could purchase it. I then find a used low miles 02 Tundra off Craigslist for $6500 cash when hers was 14K with a loan. I love her and am glad she has a nice ride and is happy, that's what good husbands do. But at the same time, I don't feel to guilty putting a few grand into the truck to make it mine. Life is short and isn't all about the money, if it makes you happy, do it! P.S. my wife just got a raise too, so now I'm in trouble, Ha Ha! Thanks for your post man!

Gorgeous 1st gen OP. I’m a dude that likes mods but the truck sure is elegant when it was completely factory/stock. I’m envious - would dd this truck all day!
