Bought eibach /toytec coilovers set at 2.5" with one shim on the driver's side with plans to run 285 70 18 on factory trd wheels. Well the eibach/ toytec coilovers didn't give me quite 2.5". So I added 1 coachbuilder shim on my driver's side and one on my passenger side. Have a 1" block in the back (plans to install shackles asap).

My measurements are 24.25 from center of hub to fender in the front on both sides. And 25 from center of the hub to the fender in the rear.

    1) Can I get by without ucas for a little while?

    2) Does my setup sound good?

    Thanks

You shouldn’t need new UCAs at all with that setup. Your well within the adjustability limits of the stock ones.

As long as you’re happy with it, then setup sounds great!

Only thing I was worried about is that I have 2 shims on one side. Didn't know if that was a big no no or what. Other than a little steering wander from needing an alignment after adding the shims it's rides fine.

The uca issue is really about alignment. Omce you go high enough you must run them to properly align

Rock em. I’m installing my second shim this week too. Not a big deal.

If your final measurement is 2.25” of height gained...22” is stock....then you’re within limits. 3” is the max

I don't think the 22" is 100% correct for these trucks. I lost my measurements I took when it was stock. But I have a hard time believing that after using 2.5" coilovers and 2 shims I only got 2.25" of lift. If that's the case toytec is majorly false advertising these coils.

That's why I'm concerned about needing them. 2.5" (supposedly) coilovers plus 2 shims.

Try getting it aligned. They will let you know if you need uca’s.

Ehhh. Most shops can’t properly align these trucks though haha.

I was given 22” by Darren at boss4x before deciding what height I needed to level the front. I then measured myself and it was indeed 22” stock.

I think your alignment numbers will be 'ok,' but you will still see some abnormal tire wear our to positive camber.

I think to get the ideal alignment, you'll need UCAs... Which is I'm finding with less lift than you.

I'll get some spc ucas soon. I'm more worried about why the 2.5" coils didn't give me the lift as advertised. Really odd. Wish I would have gone with 6112s kinda...

I wouldn’t call abnormal tire wear an ok alignment

I agree, which is why I quoted the word ok.

From what I've seen, most people claiming to have 'no issues' with alignment post lift are usually in the 0.3-0.5* camber, which would of course result in abnormal tire wear - even more so if you would consider yourself to be anything more than a passive driver.

I think ideal alignment is in the -0.1 to 0.1 range, imho. Which in my experience won't happen with a lift and stock UCAs.

Would anyone be concerned with the lift amount the eibach/toytec coilovers gave me? Like I said I'm not certain on my stock measurements but it doesn't seem they gave me the advertised lift.

I would not get too hung up on the number.
(I'll admit I did not take before measurements on my 6112 1.9" setting)
Have you taken the measurement at more than one location (i.e. your drive way, store parking lot, etc...)?

Yes I have. It's all over the place most anywhere I measure unless I measure in my garage on flat concrete or something similar. I have to admit though it's sitting perfectly as of right now. The fronts are the same at 24.25 and the rears are the same a 25.

I've read somewhere that alot of guys stock measurements were around 21.25 - 21.5. If that's true then I did get 3". I'm just wanting to verify with others on here and get opinions before I call it done and get my alignment and tires.
