scored some *power folding* oem tow mirrors on craigslist. read a few places that platinums aren’t wired for the drl amber marker light on mirrors and, yup, they aren’t. doesn’t mean you can’t fix that...took a few hours, but managed to run power thru the doors and bam! drl’s that operate when front end drls are turned on. these things are effin sweet and yuuuge!

Badass. I like the drl upgrade. May have to do this with mine. By far one of the best mods on these trucks. So much more visible

Finally got the d-ring mod done. Chopping those factory washers wasn't as easy as it should have been....but I'm still using 1 arm and a cutting wheel made for aluminum. Either way, huge improvement! Looking into Ratpor liner sometime soon
Thanks for the great write up @csuviper

Next...finalize the 35" dual spare carriers with the additional d-rings. Where do you purchase helper monkeys around here?

Do you tighten these down all the way or keep it loose so they swivel?

Tightened and torqued, no swivel here. Might be possible with some unique washer setup, I didn't want to jeopardize the weight capacity.

@Civiceg94 Good to know, cross that one off the list. Much appreciated!

Pulled off my emblems and put on chrome/black ones that would match the new Texas flags I put on. Not happy with the decals though, seller printed them with a white border! Cut them as best as I could.

I tapped into the fuse box, using the same fuse that the cig lighter uses. You'll need to get a kit that will transform 12 volts into 5volts that power these cams though, it's like $10 for that.

may not seem like much, but got another new windshield. the dealer had safelite put one in when i bought it a little over a year and a half ago, but it got chipped up right away, then sandblasted on multiple trips across wyoming at winter, and it finally started cracking. the new w/s guy (blue crush auto glass) said he was surprised it didn't leak as there wasn't any glue and i didn't think i had the heated windshield, but i did...safelite just cut the wires when they installed it. blue crush fixed it and it should work now.

When ever I need a new windshield I tell them that it has the heated wiper park area, the gradient tint at the top, and the pagnatied area by the rear view mirror. The next time that mine needs to be done, I'm also going to mention that I'm willing to pay the difference for the windshield that comes in the Limited or Platinums that have some sort of additional UV layer to keep from getting quite so hot.
