    Hey y'all. The wife recently put in an order for a 4Runner TRD Pro and I have caught Pro fever. I have decided to get a TRD Pro Tundra but am unsure which to get a lightly used 2017 or 2019? Can anyone tell me the differences between the two? All I know is the older ones have Bilsteins and the newer ones sport Fox shocks. The only thing bugging me on the 2019 is the double hood scoop and the TSS square in the grill haha. Otherwise it looks clean! I've heard some scattered things about the TSS but not sure how valid they are...I am going to install a grill guard bumper on it if that makes a difference...

    I've only had my SR5 for a few weeks but the thought of a TRD Pro Tundra and 4Runner in the garage is too good.

    @VictorLin0725 If I were you, I'll wait few more months for the 2020 Pro. It will have more features (Push Start Button, Apple Carplay/Android Auto, 8 inch Head Unit and a new color - Army Green.

    To be fair that's quite an old vehicle haha. That being said I've heard of people clear wrapping the roof to resolve the leaks

    Was thinking about doing that but spending the money to make a Pro doesn't really appeal to me due to the resale value of an actual Pro. Guess that stamped TRD PRO on the bed really means something in the Tundra world. Also being the unmechanically inclined person I am I'll most likely take the truck to the shop for all upgrades/installations therefore increasing the overall cost.

    The resale value of a pro is higher relative to original msrp but not any better relative to typical actual purchase price. That may change in a few years or more if it becomes a particularly desirable used truck.

    And most importantly....

    You can supercharge the 2017 very easily with a Magnuson.
    You cannot yet do this for the 19'
    As far as I know that's the last year that there is a "Magnuson" tune from BD, nothing for the 18-19's yet... Every PRO should be Supercharged!

    So go for the 17...

    Isn't the engine the same throughout the model years? Supercharger does sound pretty nice but it also sounds like my bank will be draining fairly quickly. I can't imagine how much better it'll be with that SC

    No tune available for 18 and up yet.

    Don't let the TSS be the only thing that scares you. There are quite a few horror stories, but tens of thousands of untold stories with no problems. But....it would definitely suck to have an unresolved TSS problem. Alot do get resolved though.

    Same engine different electronics for 18+. I don't doubt they will have something eventually, but who knows when it will be available.

    Most of us with 18+ don't have any issues with TSS even modified, but people have definitely experienced issues.

    Like others have said, keep your truck and make it better than a pro. Between the cash you will loose parting with your truck now and then buying the more expensive pro you can get waaayyyy better suspension, better wheels, better tires, better exaust, make any mod you want less a supercharger and have some cash left over. Now will you get all that invested $$ back out when you go to sell it...most likely not. Pros are sweet but if you already have a new truck keep it and mod it.

    The SC will change your entire perspective of what your truck is not only capable of, but how much better it is when the proper power to weight ratios are applied. It drives F@CKING AWESOME. Best $ I've spent without question.
