How did you route the rear view camera wire?

I'm getting ready to replace the stock head unit with something that has GPS and a rear view camera. I posted a thread about it that was moved to the audio section of the forum. I was going to ask this in that thread but it's not getting much attention.

I've looked at the bottom of the tailgate and there's a couple round holes that I could use and a square one at the back of the bed. I don't want to drill any new holes if possible and create a new place to rust. I originally wanted to put a connector so I could remove the tailgate easily but I really don't know how often I would do so. But I certainly want any wires to be well protected.

Can anyone post a picture of how they did it? Possibly how Toyota does it?

If you don't want to deal with that hassle you could always run a license plate mounted back up cam. Echomaster makes some really nice products.

I ran my wires through the tailgate (square holes) then over and up to the frame, through the frame to the left rear cab corner, into a rubber grommet that is down there, then into the door channel up to the stereo. I was lots of fun. I put the whole length in split loom, and the rear section into the tailgate is also wrapped in rash tape.

My driveway is dirt so the rear of every vehicle gets covered in dust. I'm hoping that up higher on the tailgate handle will be a better place than the license plate. I was hoping that there was a clip or something that fit into the square hole on the back of the bed for a clean looking install but it doesn't look like it.

I’m sure @Roman can find you the part that you need. I can’t imagine they wouldn’t sell it. They sell individual bolts/clips.
