Hey guys quick question, I am keeping my stock air box only replacing my factory filter. Did I just waste my money buying a K&N filter? I have read that the factory vs KN are like no difference? I have not installed it yet, what’s your guys input on this? Thanks in advance

You are fine. You didn't gain much or lose much. Glad you kept the airbox.

They are okay, but I don't think they 4 times better.

    I'd rather buy 4 regular filters than 1 k&n.

Stock is best in this case. No advantage for aftermarket.

IMO, if you plan on keeping, buy another, reason being is that when you clean dirty one, you have to let it dry naturally, and I'd you need to go somewhere, you have the clean one ready to pop in,

Well looks like I’ll probably just take it back lol was hoping I’d get more performance or deeper tone

With an aftermarket muffler, you might get a little more tone. I have one and only bought one so I don't buy filters all the time. I have to admit, I ran a K&N in my wife's Honda Pilot and the throttle body looked like new after 80k miles. Something has to be said about K&N's.

I have one both for the intake and for the cabin filter and notice zero change.

The only perk is in theory you don't need to keep buying filters, but like someone said above. Once you wash it, it has to air dry so your down until then.
