I was sitting at a red light today and noticed the oil pressure gauge...have you guys seen this in your trucks? Once I started moving again it went back to normal.317F39C0-61BD-4D12-9D9F-180E6F9D9ACB.jpg

Engine oil pressure is typically lower at idle, maybe as low as 5-7 psi. Engine oil pressure goes back up to maybe 20-40 psi when rpm increases speed of the oil pump.

I don't know what 1UR-FE and 3UR-FE engine oil pressures typically run, but probably close to those numbers. Toyota isn't real interested in the owner being able to read the exact pressure (note no numbers on gauge, only "L" and "H"). It helps avoid a lot of baseless complaints from owners about low oil pressure.

If this the first time you've seen your idle oil pressure that low, it may be that you have just not paid attention, but it could be important if it's a change. Check your oil level, and continue watching. If nothing changes, then don't worry about it.

No I aint never been off road in it...but it wasn’t running rough or anything. I just happened to look down and it was showing low pressure but came rite back up after I took off from the light.

My 2013 does this too. I read somewhere else in this forum about it. It is normal. I haven't had any issues with my oil pressure and have hit 180k.

I have three Toyotas including a Tundra and I've had this with all three. Your oil filter is clogged.
