What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Icon 17 inch Six Speeds +25 offset in Gun Metal. BFG All Terrain 285/75. ReadyLift 3/2 spacer kit with Bilstein 5100s in the rear. The 17s and bigger tires made all the difference in the world after stock 20s with BFG A/T 285/55. Even the wife asked how I got it to ride so much smoother! Removed the 4 mud flaps on the front. At full turn in reverse it BARELY rubs and I think its the front bumper plastic that can be moved in a little bit but I haven't messed with it yet.

Be counter productive. You would have to hand stich the wheel, exactly what you were trying to avoid and the whole reason you bought an entire steering wheel instead of the stich on cover lol.

It would be easy thought. You would just stitch the pre existing stitch with red. I would say skip every other one and you would be good to go.

 

What offset are those methods?

What lift points can that hi-jack hit?

 

What kind of paint did you use? Did you sand the existing paint? And did you use clear coat?

Installed TRD rear sway bar. It does greatly improve cornering. Will install front sway bar next.

 

Just find a tacoma one on ebay or the like. Can be found for about $100. Rent a steering wheel puller. 30 minutes top. Most of the time is waiting after disconnecting the battery.

 

This is my therapy (why pay?), I’ve wheeled alone a few times, it’s a feeling of assurance when you can do it safely and drive home intact, know your limits though. Ignore the 20” wheels, gonna get 17’s in a few months.

 

Limited and up came with a leather. The 1794 has a fake wood part in the center that is slipery as hell with sweaty palms. Terrible design for an important part. Shame that $50k pro doesnt even have leather steering.

I got mine leather steering wheel from a Tundra 2014 for $160 shipped to west coast.
East coast is cheaper

 

That's what I'm saying. I wouldn't have to worry bout it fitting right or feeling good. Just adding a little color to it to go with rest of my truck. I love the look of the cover u guys are doing, just don't have the patience to stitch the whole thing and have to worry bout it looking right, feeling right. I definitely feel that's different than starting from scratch on the cover. I think I could even handle that. So who's in? Who gonna be that team player and play the role of ginneau pig? Someone gotta be into this, give it a shot and let us know if it worked and how great it looks.

 

Yup they really cheaped out there. I'm guessing they're are gonna say it's supposed to be an offroad truck where you're getting your hands dirty, this wheel cleans real easy and don't get dirty and hold dirt, show dirt the way a leather would. Idk? I'm just making excuses for them, fact is, it's b.s. U hit the nail on the head, 50k and this is what u get? U gotta go out and buy a leather wheel so the cheap ass rubber one don't rub off like a rubber eraser. I absolutely love my truck, but it really does piss me off I gotta go out and spend almost $200 bucks for a used but greatly improved one. They should've gave pro owners a black leather with red stitching wheel.

 

So honest opinion. I've been told the gtr kit is a brighter and better beam pattern over the 19 pro LEDs. Having both, what u think? Do u agree with that statement? Obviously the 19 pros look badass and win the looks competition battle, but for output, would u also give the edge to the gtr kit?

 

To be honest they are both bright. The gtr may have a little more LUX but the 19 pros throw is better beam is cleaner. I like them both. But like you said they look sick and the led drl really dresses the front end up.

 

Yep that was the reall annoiance for me when I moved to the tundra. My trd tacoma had the leather. My palms were always sweaty with the rubber tundra one. That was the first thing I got rid of.

 

Just fyi, I did make the plunge, found a tundra 3rd gen for 175 shipped. It's in damn near perfect shape.

If you use the steering wheel puller dont thread the two side bolts too deep. It wil crack the clock spring, that that piece was $$$$. Ask me how I know.

Yup same here, I'd jump in the truck from working on a hot day and with sweaty hands the rubber would just peel up and roll up in hands kinda like dead skin when u rub ur hands together with like glue or something similar on them. Cheap bastards.

That's messed up, u really gonna hurt his feelings saying that with how proud he is of that beautiful mgm color. I will admit though, when I 1st looked at pic I thought the same, I had to double take and remind myself it's not blue.

Pretty crazy what pics can do, both good and bad. I look at my truck in real life and think wow that looks amazing right there. Then I take a pic and am like, that looks like shit, does no justice.
