I don't play a lot of games, but my son got me to try RDR2. I thought it was fun but I didn't finish it. Once Apex Legends came out people started trying Titanfall 2 again. So I fired it up last week. I forgot how much fun that game was.

 

Guy banging on the door already. “Are you guys open?”

Yes sir. It’s 6:10 am, the sign says we open at 7, the doors are locked and the lights are off. We’re definitely open dumbass.

 

Try RDR2 online. You’ll hate video games forever.

 

Tried it day 1 of the beta for about an hour. Have never been back. It was like going from eating a good steak to cold spam.

I took a long break from games, but my son got me back into them. I’m always a little behind because I refuse to pay 50-60 dollars for a game. Buy trade-ins at game stop a year after release for 1/2 the cost. RDR2 is one of the few newer games I got, and still bought it after it got marked down to 39. The rest of the titles you guys are talking about I have no clue

 

I didn’t play it long either. You can barely do anything without somebody opening fire on you. Having PVP available at all times makes it not fun at all.

 

Sometimes it’s worth it, sometimes it’s not. For The Division, I got over twelve hundred hours (51 days) of playtime for my 60 bucks. Even RDR2 had a lot of playtime. I had well over a hundred hours in AC Odyssey also.

On the other side, I’ve bought plenty of games for 60 dollars that I barely touched. I used to buy games constantly, but over the years it’s gotten to where something has to be pretty epic before I’ll buy it. I also have a membership at Best Buy where I get 20% off of all games, so it helps.

The Division has a similar play style to RDR2. You can get the original one for about ten bucks now if you want to try it.

 

From the mission menu you cannot "track". You should be able to select the mission you want then it shows you where to go oppose to trying to find it on the map.

The graphics are sick. Was shooting through bushes and leaves where falling off the plant, unreal.

 

I'm the same way. Once my sons started kicking my butt in Madden a few years ago, I pretty much quit playing. I bought Titanfall 2 on sale last year for my youngest but he didn't play it so I did. Now it has taken off and all three of my sons picked it up last week when Walmart had it on sale for under $5. They are amazed the old man can run circles around them.

Ah, got you. It’s not incredibly clear letting you know what to do next either. It’s only an issue until you get to endgame anyway I guess. By the time I stopped playing the first one, I knew exactly where everything was.
One cool thing I’ve read is changed: Once you have finished the missions, the enemy spawns become random. In the original, we knew every mission, every enemy, and where and in what order they spawned. (I’m sure you’re heavily familiar with Lexington for example.) Now when you run them again, it’s completely random. Should make it more interesting for longer. Helps with the mind numbing repetition. “Negative Ramos!”

The attention to detail in these games is insane. They built New York almost exactly how it is in real life. I assume DC is the same. My wife’s work has an office in NYC. I looked up the address, and showed her the office building in game. It was almost identical to Google maps.

I was playing the Spider-Man game before TD2 came out. It’s map is accurate also. I called my son in, and we traveled around looking at Division landmarks. Took a screenshot of the Base Of Operations and Madison Field Hospital.

 

Never played it, but my son does. He’s apparently pretty good at it.
