Hello everyone. I've been lurking around for awhile and I gotta say, from what I've seen here, I could really appreciate some thoughts and advice. Seems like a great community. I'm a current member on tacomaworld and I'll be stepping up from a 1st gen Tacoma to a Tundra. I'm about to place an order and was wondering if there's anything I should be on the look out for/special requests when it comes to doing this. In the past I've always just bought from lot inventory so this is new territory for me. Any advice/thoughts on the matter is greatly appreciated and I hope I'll be welcomed here for the long haul.

CM Limited w/TRD. This truck will be a DD that will rarely see dirt but I like the wheels and shocks on the TRD.

Tow package, spray in liner, nfab step bar, in bed led light, under seat storage, that should set you up nicely!

    Welcome from TN!

Thanks Law. I have a list of accessories and mods to do for sure. As I said I've been looking around here for a bit and have gotten some great ideas from the forums. Any thing I should ask about when placing the order regarding the process or expectations on both ends? Anything really. I feel like a kid in a candy store right now. Haha.

The mods I gave you are pretty much what you should ask for at the dealership. The rest of the mods you want (depending on what they are) I would do myself or get aftermarket.

LOL that's how I feel when I get some extra cash to put towards my truck mod list!

By the way, you're a fan of "Superbad" aren't you "mclovin'":rofl::rofl::rofl:
    Loving it!!

Huge fan of Superbad. I tried to count how many times they dropped the f-bomb. Lost track around 125. Lol. I think the TRD exhaust is going on the dealership list. Not sure what I can get them to "throw in" tho. Kinda firm right now on the 17's, especially ones on order.

LOL the whole movie was an f bomb wrapped around a million tiny f bombs!!

TRD exhaust would be an excellent addition, try the TRD sway bar too, helps a ton with body roll. TRD shift knob (if they don't already have it) and maybe some TRD leather seats :oldglory:

I'm focused more on the functional mods right now as opposed to form, that's why I suggested the mods I listed before.

Cool. Yeah, the Limited comes with heated leather so I'll be good there. Might look into one of those shift knobs I've seen sold by a vendor around here. And the sway bar is on the list, but probably gonna add that after a few miles behind the wheel for good comparison once mounted. I'll likely focus on aesthetics at first. Can't stand that pop-pop grill and chrome stuff!

Welcome! TONS of former TW members are on this forum. You might have noticed that a lot of the mods/admins of TW own Tundras...
I can't recommend getting the 5.7 or 4x4 enough. Those two things will greatly improve the value of it in the long run. Everything else is honestly personal opinion.

I would skip on NFAB bars, better aftermarket options . Get the spray bed liner and the bed rails system. well worth it.
TRD shift knob is great and sway bar if you dont plan on off roading a lot

but yeah TRD, crew max and 5.7L. Best resale value too.

6 inch Procomp Lift, 20in Fuel wheels with Toyo RT tires, Retrax matt black electric bed cover, AMP retractable steps, etc will add the few other things on the truck later
Maybe you can snag a new 16 and save the money for better mods then from the dealer.

I considered that originally but you can't get a Limited 2016 in Quicksand.

Ask to swap the chrome mirror caps and handles for black ones from a different truck on their lot.
When I got my wife's car, I also made them clear bra my truck as part of the deal lol. Can't hurt to ask.
I would ask for a bedliner at the very least.

Just curious, can you order a non flex fuel? (Not a big deal at all, merely curious)

150 for the shift knob is rough. I have it, and do not really care for it, but i guess its a personal preference Not sure what dealer is charging for sway bar, but just picked one up on Amazon for under 250.
spray on liner is awesome, but its like sandpaper on delicate items, so if its a DD think about what you would put in back here and there , and see if its worth the extra expense. Might want to add the mat as well , or just go with a drop in . I also have the bed extender, which is ok, but I believe there is many other aftermarket ones that are 100 times better, the one from Toyota, is removable , but no split in the middle , like the fords. that fold and stash on the side of bed with out taking up room.
