What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I actually liked the 4.6 in my gen2. If I wasn’t pulling my camper through the mountains I’d get it again

 

Hey thank you, I appreciate that. I've got a 2016 Polaris Sportsman I needed to pull, hay rolls for my horses, 16' center console, nothing too heavy. I had a 2014 Tacoma on 35s all built but was tboned last year. Looking forward to learning about these trucks and their quirks.

 

Congrats. If u don't need it, then it's a great choice. Besides talk to Toyota techs, the 4.6 is bulletproof from what I hear.

 

That’s awesome to hear, it came with a 200k bumper to bumper and lifetime of the power train so looking forward to using that whenever needed for sure. And thanks!

 

Going from one to the other is a big change for sure. Much bigger truck. Miss it somedays. Chevy leafs and 14” bilsteins

 

Doubt you're gonna need it, but hey, nothing wrong with peace of mind. I know a bunch of techs and they told me the 4.6 is a strong motor, they last forever. So if u dont need 4wd or the power to pull big ass heavy shit, u made a great choice. Unfortunately for me I need 4wd and pull heavy shit. Besides that,I drive real fast too lol.

 

Yeahhhh lol that would be my issue, Florida traffic with a big truck and close to 400 hp would be a dream. Truck looks damn good! And i'll be sure to use the reliability quote if the wife brings up any questions

 

Do you have more pics of the exterior of your rig? I'd like to see more of the non-painted flares on black.

 

Yeah I'll let Phil provide u with that, he's just not allowed to buy anything from you or anyone else until I say he's allowed. He knows what he gotta do to get the greenlight from me. Lol

It went well. I got my new fumoto valve and aluminum filter housing installed, mobil 1 oil and OEM filter. I swapped over the longer center filter tube got all the new seals in place.
I had hoped to get a hole cut in the skid plate for future oil changes but ran out of time, next time I'll do that so I don't need to remove the skid plate ever again.

 

Here it is, it was too bright earlier. Had to wait till dusk

Heat gun, patience, shoe goo, cleaner wax .. it’s not very hard.. cleaning up the sticky leftover residue was most time consuming

 

I don't know if u guys or anyone else in here is on tundra crew Facebook? But if u are u gotta look up the rant post that someone put on about removing the badging. I mean he went apeshit. Calling people out their names ect was pretty crazy. But the best part is the comments and memes after. If anyone is on it here I suggest u look it up, was a pretty funny read.

Who knows maybe he's a member here and can tell u better. What I gathered, I guess he saw another person debadge their truck?Either that post was the final straw or maybe he got tired of seeing guys do it? Something triggered him and set him off. Went into how he's had Toyota's for 30 years and never once did it or thought about. People who do are Aholes, said guys should be proud for it to say Toyota on it, they don't deserve to own one, they should sell it, even said F U to anyone who does. That's just the jist, I mean it was crazy how pissed off he was about it, they didn't debadge his truck, just their own that they pay or paid for. Then of course being FB everyone came out the woodwork to call him out on it. Between memes and posts it got pretty damn funny from there.

I got the impression that if he was allowed or able, to line up in a row everyone who's ever even thought about doing it, he wouldn't hesitate to squeeze. After my initial disbelief and shock over just how upset he was over people doing what they want to their trucks, I gotta admit I found it pretty funny and it brought a smile to my face reading his post again realizing how crazy the whole thing was and people's response to it.
