Tundra Owners, I'm new to the discussions and searching for my first Tundra. I'm purchasing one to be a tow vehicle for towing an RV (5000k lbs). So not an everyday vehicle. I'm considering high mileage vs age? So tell me, would you rather have an older Tundra with lower mileage or a newer Tundra with higher mileage? For example: 2005 V8 4.7 with 115k or 2008 V8 4.7 with 200k? What factor is most important when considering a used/higher mileage Tundra? Thank you all for your experienced input and guidance!

Living in New York "Rust Belt", I would rather have a newer tundra regardless of miles with the 5.7 engine. just my .02 worth.

I'm a bit partial. 07, 5.7L 96K miles, no rust, no leaks, and well maintained. I'm keeping it. Look for something like that IMHO.

So you are only towing for recreation? How often will that be? If only a few times a year then the 2005 would be my choice. That trucks weight is much less then the 2008 with the same size engine.

    Is a 5.7l tundra a possibility?
Theres really not much of a trade off in gas mileage at all. Incase you werent aware.

Nothing wrong with the 4.7, but oddly enough its not really anymore gas efficienct.

I would go for the lower mileage truck assuming the body is in acceptable condition for your needs.
