Fuel 20X9 wheels: Which offset would fill in flares’ gap?

Hey guys, sorry if this is a repetitive question, but I’m planning on purchasing a set of Fuel Assault 20X9 5X150 wheels and I’ve got flares which came with the truck installed by Gulf States TOYOTA.

My current set up is in my sig and it fills the flares’ gap perfectly, however, Fuel does not come in a +15. They only offer +1 and +20...

What offset do you guys suggest?

 

5mm isn't going to make much of a difference if you do the +20. That's less than 1/5 of an inch

 

I had 20X9 with +1 offset paired with Toyo 35x12.5 and it sticked out about 1/4 inch past the fender flares. I hope this helped

 

I have flares too and getting Fuel 18x9 +1 with 5" backspace put on today, paired with a 305/65, so we'll see how they line up with the flares now.

 

I’d go with the +1’s. I have the +20’s and they are tucked in.

 

@Ynot_tonY , I was thinking the same thing and there should be no rubbing issues.
@joeguam , I’ve only got a leveling kit up front. So my choice of tires are limited. It’s good to know that +1 offset do stick out a little bit.

Do the +1 for sure that's what I have on my truck tread is still in flair and if I run with out flairs it's out maybe 1 to 11/2" s from the body. Btw I have the fuel krank wheels 18x9 +1 on 35x12.5 18s ko2s

+1 is perfect with the flares! These have a 5” backspace.

 

These are Fuel 20x10 -19 with a 35x12.50x20 tire.

 

I have Fuel Trophys 20x9 5x150 +1 . Stock offset with 285/65/20 BFGs ko2. I like the look, ride and I'm planning on installing bushwhacker flairs, I must paint them. I did a mock up on front fender with the flare, tire didn't stick out beyond the flair. Sorry I didn't snap a photo of that moc up. I'm not sure about -20. Bigger tires may cause rubbing. I learned a small lesson there.

 

Thanks for sharing this question. I have been also torn between a +1 and +20 fuel contra wheel. I don’t have flares but could run them. I was worried I would stick out way far with +1 since my +18 are 1 3/4” outside the fender today.

 

Test fitting the +1 without tire. Will they stick out to far or is +20 safer bet. Just not as concave of a wheel.

Matte black. Glossy seems to show many little scratches easily from what I read.

 

I think that's how a +1 may look if someone was to do a 11/2" spacers what do you think ? are they out of flair like 1" out ? I'm thinking about a spacer if I put my flairs back on.

 

Probably it's just so damn hard to tell.

 

Thanks for posting this. I’ve got assaults 20x9 +20 right now without flares... but I want a more concave, so I’m probably going to get flares and 20x10 -18 assaults.

Current setup:

 

Sounds like you are in my position with your assault wheels. Worried if I do +20 I will regret not going more concave. Only difference I am worried about the +1 hitting cab mount or being to far out with 295/55/20. Think they will be ok for how far out or are flares a must have item with +1?

That’s the thing, I didn’t want flares, so I went +20. I didn’t think the +1 had any more concave than +20 because they were the same width, maybe I’m wrong though. My only way to get concave is to go 20x10 -18 and get flares. I’m sure I’ll have to do all sorts of chopping in order to make it work on my 3” toytec eibach kit though.

 

I would bet it is 3/4” more but that is why I had to have discount tire order me one of each. It’s not a huge difference but anyone into wheels will see the slight difference between the +1 and +20. I attached the +1 and then will attach the +20 in the fuel contra.

 

+20. Due to the back spacing pushing out 3/4” you can see the cap sits closer to the lip of the wheel.

I’m in the south, we don’t need winter wheels.

Mine will be for sale though. I think I found a used set of 20x10’s, but they won’t be available for another couple of weeks.

 

+1 cause my +20 just barely pokes out past top of stock fender

 

So I’m guessing +1 would stick out just enough to fill the flare gap? Since I only have a leveling kit, 20X9 is the max to prevent rubbing?
