I have a 2018 Tundra SR5 MAXCREW CAB. Im looking for a locking gas cap. Ive seen the Stant one which some folks say fits, but it looks as though they were referring to a 2017 Tundra. Havent seen anything that specifically says 2018. Amazon sells the cap, model 10504 I believe, but their site says it doesnt fit a 2018. Any one know if 2017/2018 are the same? Does this cap fit a 2018 or not?

I don’t know what the temperature is like where you are, but I’ve had to break locking caps and doors off frozen shut :(

All the 3rd Gen Tundra has caps are interchangeable. The E85 cap works on the regular gas vehicles and vice versa.

I had one of them on my 2010 CM and went on a 6 month deployment overseas. The truck was parked all that time. So, when I got back home from deployment, I took the truck to the gas station to fill it and my key wouldn’t open the lock. It was rusted inside the barrel. I had to use lithium grease and WD40 to get it to partially turn the lock. Then, I used a tiny screwdriver to pop it open. That was it for the fancy lock. :). I now use a simple Stant lock with a key. It’s been on my truck for 8 years now and it still works like a charm.

I sprayed mine with Amsoil HD metal lubricant. Mine is garage kept and not near salt water. Hopefully it will never fail.

That should do it. Down here in south Florida the elements will destroy anything. Especially, the salt, heat, and rain combination. I noticed that they are making them much better now with drum key that holds up better. But, it’s just not the best way for me down here in Florida.
