Do I buy a 2019 TRD Sport or TRD Offroad?

Hey all... new to the forum. I'm buying a Tundra within the next couple weeks but I'm having a tough time trying to decide which model to buy. The TRD Sport or TRD offroad. I don't spend much time offroad but the offroad model is alittle cheaper but not enough to notice. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated..Thanks! I apologize if this question has been already asked a 1000 times already.

The biggest difference (in your case) is the fact that the sport is de-chromed and color matched. The scoop on the hood is a sticker. I went to buy a sport, but the scoop was a big turn-off. I don't like the cheesy chrome plastic on the off-road especially since the rear bumper is color matched (WTF Toyota???). Go look at both and get the one that speaks to you. I went to buy a black sport and came home with a cement off-road. The pics of a cement truck don't do it justice. The color is very different in person. Everyone is hell bent to get the best deal, but after you agree to spend over $40k you might as well get exactly what you want. I keep my trucks 10 years, so the difference in price isn't that big.

Yes I had the trd cement grey out for a test drive and really liked the color. I can get the better deal with offroad but as for the chrome I could get it wrapped eventually if I don't like it. I would maybe upgrade to the 20 inch tires and rims. But we'll see.

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
As much as I hate stick-on/bolt-on hood scoops, I'd still go with the sport. No chrome and at least it came from the factory that way.

Keep in mind the TRD off-road is just a package. It can be added to multiple trim levels unlike the TRD Sport. I also liked the color matching of the sport but wanted the added features of the Limited. Ended up getting the limited with the off-road package. Not to mention I really wanted Cement..

The reason I bought a sport was because of the less chrome to color match. Not a huge fan of the scoop but being Barcelona red it's not as noticable as white. Just had to change the badges to black and I was finished. From there I changed to 18 trd rims and had them powder coated black and also removed the sport rear logo on the bed side. Truck looks clean now. Also added the pro grille.

I am a bit biased, so go for the TRD sport! Or go with the best deal. If you have no plans on going off-roading very often then the TRD sport would make sense. The sport can handle some offroading as well.

Personally, the TRD sport packaged everything I wanted which were the LED headlights and Fogs, color matched bumpers and front grill, and personally I think the hood scoop makes my truck look badass and stand out from the other Tundras.

I say get the Off Road. You can color match down the road if you don't like chrome, plus no ridiculous hood scoop (subjective, obviously). The headlights are the same on the Sport and Off Road. Good luck!

Color matching gets pricey very quickly. The grill and bulge isn’t bad, but most people are finding its pretty expensive to color match the bumper end caps.

    Plus the skewp!!!

Haha. Maybe for some. I also thought it was awesome but when i test drove, i felt like it was hard as hell to see over the dang scoop. I ended up with a 2019 but no scoop

The TRD Pro has different fogs and black headlight housings, but everything else from the SR5 with Off-Road package and up have the same LED headlights and LED fogs.

Not sure why anyone would want 20s instead of 18s. I would much rather have 18s for the ride. I ended up with 20s on my TSS because I wanted the KO2s. I was negotiating with a dealer on a TRD but they were being dicks. They sent me a customer loyalty bonus card that was not worth the paper it was printed on. I negotiated my best price on the TRD and then whipped out the loyalty bonus. They started whining they were as low as they could go. I said so this customer loyalty bonus is bullshit. I started to talk to or email the GM because I dealt directly with him on the previous truck. I got pissed off and left. Next day I called another dealer that I was haggling with and found out the TSS OR had the BFGs. I needed the better tires for the ranch I hunt and swapping tires on a new truck is most likely going to cost money. The 20s aren't bad but I would trade for 18s in a hearbeat.

Sweet looking truck! Definitely got the look of the trd pro. Powder coated rims makes for a nice touch!

TRD sport here and really happy with it. The truck has a bunch of thing that I do not like... the most important for me is the radio and the cloth seats. I would pay the extra money for a TRD off road if it was 750+ hp engine in it.

I think you're thinking of the TRD Pro, not the Off-Road. The Off-Road is the same price as the Sport.

It isn't that important which one you choose, you'll be happy with either. I was looking at a sport and off road and didn't really have a preference. The hood scoop looked good to me on some colors, but not others, and I like a little bit of chrome. I brought my wife to the dealer the next day to help me decide and went home with a Limited. She liked the heated seats. :)

Which model are you looking at?

You can get the TRD Off-Road package in an SR5, Limited, or 1794?

The TRD Sports are sharp trucks for sure! I guess it depends on what trim level you are looking at to decide between TRD Off-Road or a Sport.

The dealer don't have a sport that I wanted nor can he find one at the moment. So right now they're trying to get me into a black limited for close to the same price as a sport. So that works for me if the deal goes ahead!

Right now looks like it could be a limited as the dealer can't find a sport in the color that I wanted.

As a note, do not buy a truck that the dealer does not stock.

Does it? The bed sticker usually says "TRD 4x4" and then either Off-Road or Sport depending on the trim.
