So my next project is to update the brakes on my Double Cab, 5.7L V8. Brakes were done in the past, but I currently have just shy of 140K and when I changed out the wheels recently, my inspection of the pads revealed they were worn almost down to the audible sensor and the rotors measured .049. I am also getting a slight pulsating in the steering wheel when braking.

I used a set of Powerbrake Z36s on my last truck and was happy with them, however I do plan to tow a small 5th wheel and was wondering if I am best sticking with OEM rotors and pads (my Tundra does have the factory towing package)? Are there better options available?

I used the power stop break kit with slotted rotors and heavy duty break pads tow my 35.6 foot camper not break fatigue.

I did StopTech Cryo Slotted Rotors in the front and Centric Premium Rotors in the rear (StopTech are Centric Premiums that get slotted and cryo treated). Did Hawk LTS pads all around. Prepped the hubs good with wire wheel/3M resurfacing tool to fit around the lugs. Applied anti-seize to the mating surface on the hub and rotor. Couldn't be happier with the performance. Pads grab like crazy. If I stomp on it

I'll most likely go with factory B R A K E S when it's time, unless Toyota has let it's Beancounters "chince-out" on them by that time. I have 81,000 miles on my 2010 and according to my Mechanic, I should get 100,000 miles with my stock BRAKES.

I use the Toyota pads. They’ve always lasted forever and are always quiet. I live in a hilly area so rotors are always a problem. I found Frozen Rotors cryogenically treated rotors. They last about two to three times as long as the stock rotors.

How do you know if your Tundra has the tow package?

If you have the 5.7 V8, you'll see a cooler in front of the Radiator and a 7 Pin Connector for a Trailer. With that package you'll have 4.30 gears + a heavy duty alternator maybe even a heavier flasher for signals and probably some stuff I forgot.

Search E-bay for brakemotive I been using the for years. All my vehicles and friends use them. Drilled and slotted rotors, ceramic pads. Great stopping power.

I have a 2008 Tundra with few issues however I wasn't able to locate any cut wires and cleaning the battery terminals and ground did not solve this issues. After I start the truck, the first time I hit the brakes it sounds like the ABS grinds. Then all the lights are back on. What’s the problem here? Any suggestion from anyone end.
