Update on the truck. Left rear axle shaft is bent, now to hunt a used one (new is too much money.) she’ll be parked till I find one now

So left inner tie rod and a left read axle shaft...

Then Ball joints and probably control arms just because mileage And accident.

A bent axle was part of the “rollover special” package. Special order.

Idiot light "check engine" came on today. Oil pressure is good, charge is good, temp is good.
    Any guesses?
    I'm thinking some oxygen sensor.

A bluetooth OBD reader is worth the money for just this occasion.

well i mean it may not be bent bent. but im not pressing on a wheel bearing to find out its bent and i just wasted money on a bearing. ran the truck up on the lift because of noise and i saw the wheel moving. took the wheel off and the drums moving. no play i can feel so im pretty sure its a bent shaft. i had to replace one before on a FJ cruiser because it hit a curb pretty hard. mine ended up on 3 flat tires and a damaged wheel. so good chance its bent... ever so slightly but its likely bent.

I will say this, after I changed my axle seal and diff juice, I put the axles back it and turned the truck on and let it run in drive for awhile to check if I did the seals right. The hubs dont run straight on either side. I think it's normal with no load on them as there's a little wiggle room in the diff.

It's likely a sensor. Check the code.

Damn that's the same one I had in there already from my 03 taco. I guess the 5 speed is different. The search continues.

The 5 speed I believe is a learning trans. Totally different from the a340 of old.

Agreed. I plan on picking up a BlueDriver soon. Very highly rated and sounds like $100 well spent to me.

Edit: Make that: I just ordered a BlueDriver myself. haha

Took me awhile to learn it is cheaper for me to pay the pros. I do that sort of thing all the time.
When I finally get it all fixed I'm so P.O.'d there is just no satisfaction from the job.
At least I don't throw tools any more.:anonymous:

As a mechanic. I can tell you I throw tools almost daily over usually being annoyed by poor design choices or a service writer what pisses me off.

Got my Tundra washed and ready to go. I’ve been thinking about putting on a bush guard, bug guard and window wind shields. Do you guys have any suggestions? This is my first post and I’m enjoying looking at all the awesome Tundras!

    Welcome. nice rig.
As for window vents, I'm going to love them in the spring & summer, but I've found them noisier than expected. Perhaps a slim fit brand would be quieter?

You might want to remove that butt connection and replace it with a solider and heat tubing.. heat gets to that butt connection..

As for the bolt remove valve cover and use a easy out or left hand drill bit.

Greased the U Joints one more time yesterday to see if I can get by for a while before replacing them. Also got some mud on the tires. Felt an instant boost in testosterone.

@Casper421 you guys have me considering the Icon's now.

This may be a stupid question but are the coilovers not sold as a pair? Everywhere I check, it says (1), even Icon's website.
