As the owner I have a little different perspective... when we start working on a new product or update sometimes it goes into effect the same day and sometimes it takes several months, sometimes we can the idea completely. In most cases I don’t tell our sales team about possible changes until they are set in stone and have a firm date, because otherwise we tell customers about something new and run the chance of misleading them.

For example, the 18” bed rack was in the works for over a year and a half, then we decided to fully pursue putting it into production and we had them on our website within a week of making that decision.

No offense but lead times can and do change. Nature of the business, especially after a special sale/group buy depending how many responded and ordered product. 8 weeks is a bit much but things happen.

And that is valid considering you might dump an idea, but, feedback from your consumers (because I have the email from you guys when I asked about a rack that would be flush with the cab) and updates in terms of this would be appreciated as soon as you can. You don't have a blog or upcoming section on your site - I know as my night shifts are long and I do tons of reading.

I'm super careful about where I spend my money. Single parent blah blah blah. And had I known, especially because there are always more sales/group buys. I would have waited. That's all!

totally agree - but, again if something is in the works giving a heads up is better for making an informed decision. I've spent close to $20k on stuff (remember, I'm Canadian so the exchange rate) for this truck since I bought it in October, and I definitely have preferences on where I spend my money. RCI is one for sure that I'd rather order from.

I can agree somewhat but...... ...... Case in point>>>When was the last time you saw any auto manufacturer give a heads up with something in the works? Certainly not Toyota. I can think of lots of similar examples. I can find several instances here on the forum with many of our vendors coming out with new product all the time with no heads up. For good reason.

@RCIoffroad can I get an answer on how long tax time promo is running for? Have asked in a couple other threads without response. I’m on the fence right now between your current tundra steps and p&p....also seeing you are releasing sliders like the taco ones this is a prime example of maybe a little heads up as I have to make a decision tonight to take advantage of p&p promo, but I know their dates and specs exactly

true but when you make aftermarket components especially for builds like we have, that information can completely change the way someone's truck turns out....like it did for mine! even if the email response from RCI would have been 'let me pass this on to design and see what they say', then given me a 'no desire to go there response' or maybe a 'in the future response' it gives me something to work with

I’m with the guys about the heads up. No company would ever do that for the simple fact that they don’t want to be stuck with the new old/outdated inventory to store.

Behold, the RCI Rear Differential Skid and Control Arm Skid plates!

These are going live on our website starting tomorrow!!! We have already done a production run on each and all we are waiting on is packaging to arrive in the next week or so before they are able to start shipping out.

These are great. Do you have close-up pictures of the redesigned 38 gal tank skid with the bolt protection that was added?

How can I get two bolts for my oil change door? I've PM'd you but no reply. I've basically grinded them down to a nub and can't fit the hex key in anymore. And I can't find anything similar at Lowe's.

FYI as of about two weeks ago the bolt protection has been standard on all outgoing 38gal fuel tanks. They are 5/16" fully welded steel rings

Awesome! Just checked them out. So on the install photos the clamps around the housing are square. The photo on your website of just the skid shows cylindrical clamps which would be way cleaner. What is the final design?

The clamps are square because the axle is square believe it or not. If you zoom in on our website you will see they actually contour the axle perfectly. You won't want the round clamps trust me ;) That said, the product picture on our website with the white background is in fact a 2016 Tacoma diff skid (which has round axle). We are waiting to get the first batch out of powdercoating (tomorrow) before we can get the proper website picture with the background cropped out. All of the other pictures on the product page are in fact the actual product on our 2019 Tundra.

Not a problem! Yep we are extremely happy how the products turned out and excited to get them rolling after several weeks of R&D (And cutting upwards of 10 samples of each to get them to perfection)

I have the same rusted bolts. Called RCI and was told that they would ship some to me for a few dollars postage or i could just go and get them at the store. Could not find them at Home Depot/Lowes so I got them at Tacoma Screw. M8 x 1.25 thread. 25mm long

@RCIoffroad will the bike mount attachment work on the original bed rack design? Appears that the "cross bar" might be in the way (lower than what is shown) for a flush mount for the bike mounts. Can you confirm whether it is or is not?

    We
On the original Tundra rack or 12" adjustable rack the bike mounts will have to be placed over top of the side plate. There were no additional holes made above or below on the cross member but the mounting hole spacing for the side plate is the exact same as the bike mount. So it will mount flat over top.
