No. Plug and play. You just have to trim the top tab of the bulb

Same wattage. They’re HIR bulbs. They have a special coating to keep the heat inside the bulb in turn making them burn way brighter

If you get it to work let me know codes you used I have tried 4 and no luck it comes up blank. Only thing I didn't do was remove pin 7 I believe in the port.

2005 Toyota changed the protocol so you could get it but 2004 down was none.

First off, take your time in deciding. Don’t rush anything.

I have no problems with Toytec. I had a buddy on his 3rd gen run their “coilovers” for a while and didn’t pretty well. But like what was said before, but once, cry once... if you ever plan on upgrading “eventually” just wait a few more months and save some extra cash and upgrade now. It’ll save time and $$$.

I would not do a 700# with no extra weight up front. Unless you plan on going with a heavy bumper / winch / skids etc...
My bumper is on the lighter side 70#s or so plus a winch / skids / sliders and I’m still running 650# springs. I’m very pleased with my ride right now. Springs on the Coilovers are there to hold up the weight of the front end of the truck. There is a happy spot to be found. Too heavy and you’ll never use your shock to actually do it’s job, too little of a spring and you’ll be like jello jiggling all over lol

I ran an add a leaf (from Icon) for over a year. It did great. It gave me about 1-1.5” of lift. With icon shocks gave me some more travel in the rear. I have now upgraded to a Deaver Leaf pack...

I ran a couple service calls, checked the oil and filled up the tank.

My truck is 03, I set the code up maybe 9 years ago but I'll see if I can find it.

I didn't do the install myself, but yes - it bolts on. No drilling required.

These links mount to the frame through an existing hole.

Gave one a test drive last night. An '03 V8 AC. The frame wasn't bad considering my location, and the body was pretty good. Having worked late, and it being dark when I looked at it, I wasn't catching everything. I didn't realize it was RWD until I thought to myself that I should see how the 4WD works on it...

So, I won't be putting money down for this one. It did feel pretty tight overall, but had a vibration that really started getting pronounced above 90 kph (55 mph). My first thought was lower balls joints. Also, while the steering felt pretty tight, it did seem soft to me. Do these trucks have a healthy amount of power assist that makes it feel this way?

 

I read somewhere about the protocol 04 and below as crap for stuff like this .. I need to pull out my snap on verus d10 on the truck see if I can get into transmission that way.

 

I’ve been trusting the warning light to tell me if there is a problem all these years. The light works, but not sure if the sensor does because its never activated during towing/hauling heavy loads.

I checked the manual to see what temp would activate if there was a problem, but to no avail.

 

Typically (not sure in a Toyotas case) but typically the light won't come on until it's severely overheated like 220+. Ideally you want to stay under 200 while towing.

Personally I don't tow long or heavy enough to really worry about it and do a drain and fill every summer.

 

Yeah, most of those idiot lights don't come on until you're already in trouble.

Yeah lol in my GTI the temp light went off after my coolant dumped out on the highway. I can laugh now but at the time it wasn't funny.

 

Yeah, don't buy this one. Not only because you want 4x4 but no, there's nothing "normal" about any vibration. Unless it's a bitchin' deal and you KNOW the cause and can fix it on the cheap.

 

I went to truck accessory shops today, Canopy West and Cap-It, to price out caps for my truck. An ARE CX outfitted how I want will run me $3200 + tax and install. A Leer 100R similarly outfitted would be about $3400 + tax and install.

The Cap-It guy then presented another option. A Truxedo tonneau cover paired with a Thule TracRac SR. He just needs to call Thule on Monday to confirm part numbers and that we can make this set up with my truck. This set up would do 90% of what I need and save me around $1000, which I'll then put into more truck parts.
