Tundra ever have 0% financing?

I'm in a for profit business, much like dealerships are. All I'm saying is, there is no instance where you...the consumer (one of thousands) are so special that: Oh shit better give this away at a loss because there is literally nobody else that will buy this and no other demand that exists.

Everyone likes to believe they got a killer deal and screwed "the man." The reality is there is indeed a sliding scale of who probably paid more than others but there is no legit business that gives stuff away at a loss. They made their money, that is a fact.

I am not following you, but I am not disagreeing either (I don’t understand what I just said either, but that is okay - follow me?). My point is assuming price is same across the board (my example was $1000 under invoice - dealer is still making money on holdback and rebates), if the interest rate is different regional, the folks with the 0% get a better deal than the ones with 2.9%. Right?

 

I think it just depends. In my tundra i got 1.9% but got my sr5 doublecab for $32,600. I got real lucky with my prius in 2016. 0% apr plus rebates. it was like 22k and some change

 

Yeah, that’s the issue. Toyota Financial will run finance deals - whether it is $3500 off rebate or 0% financing, or some derivative of those options- depending on the model, market and time of year.

 

There is also volume to consider. In my area there are 2 dealerships and 1 has a much larger selection with lower prices than the other. The bigger dealership makes its profit via smaller margin times more sales. Its simple economics.

 

Good point. But does that effect Yota Financial interest rates and other finance programs?

 

I had 0% financing on mine in September 2015 for 72 months. This was in So Ca. though.

I definitely know they get their money. I bought my '19 TSS in November at 0% for 60months and traded it back in for a loss in December and got my '19 Limited at 1.9% for 72months. I watched that TSS sit at the dealership and the price steadily went down till it was below what they gave me on my trade. I know I "really stuck it to the man" when I had them throw in the OEM all weather mats before I would do paperwork on the new truck too. I just wish I knew the margins or how to play the game better but they have all numbers figured out long before we walk on the lot.

 

O% apr 60 months on my 17 tundra (also got 5300 off msrp!) In Sept '17.

 

I spoke to TOYOTA Financial Services and essentially TOYOTA North America “announces” promotions for US regional areas, and the Dealer’s finance offices are the ones who offer the “real terms and pricing” to include the possible TFS rates.

Thus, it is a “game” as others mentioned, Because even though I’m a previous TFS customer they wouldn’t match my BOA rate for my TRD. Furthermore TFS reps “are not authorized to discuss” finance rates with anyone (until you have an active loan). For some reason I assumed TFS would want to “match” other Loan Co’s to keep business “in-house”. I was Wrong!

Nonetheless , if you can get 0% for 72 months on a Tundra model w/ options you want and for a “price” that is good for you, then you’ve done well!

 

I am shocked to see so many 72 and 60 month loans for an automobile!

Having said that, getting 0% for 48 months with only putting 20-25% down wasn’t difficult (this was 4 years ago though).

 

yeah, I got 0% for 60 months when I bought my truck in February of 2016.

 

When i bought mine dealer had no problem giving me 0% for 60 mos. I did put $20,000 down though

New promo at the dealership I got mine st a few weeks ago. Still 0% but the cash off offer is higher

I got 0% but had to give up a $1500 rebate. I secured a loan at 1.79% for 60 months and it worked out close to a wash. Thanks to a hiccup in the loan application process I was going to have to wait another 48 hours for funding. I said screw it and took the 0%. I should have just waited a couple of days because I always pay auto loans off early. 2 days would have turned in to 5 because of a fishing trip and no time to properly break in a new truck. Truck had no port or dealer add ons so I did not want it to get away. Finding the Toyota you want in the Gulf States region without any add ons can be tough.
