Thank you for this. Still have a bit before I’m in a position to buck up and get some lights for my A-Pillars. Sounds like the XL80’s May be in my future...

 

I have several friends who are dealing with condensation. Just so everyone is clear, you guys will take care of condensation issues under warranty is that correct???

 

Yes, that is correct. We are happy to inspect the lights and repair them for any manufacturers defects.

 

Lighting Zone: Off Road Enthusiast
These zones have been designed by Baja Designs: The Scientists of Lighting.

Zone 1 - Dust/Fog: This zone illuminates the area directly in front of the vehicle. Mounting these lights low on the bumper eliminates glare from dust and fog.

Zone 2 - Cornering: This zone provides cornering light which is necessary to drive comfortably at speed. By toeing these lights out 10°-15° a smooth field of light is achieved, eliminating the feeling of tunnel vision.

Zone 3 - Driving Combo: This zone is your primary driving light. These lights are mounted in the middle of the front bumper to avoid glare off of the hood or from dust and fog in front of the vehicle.

Zone 4 - Spot: This zone is your first level of long distance lighting. Lights intended for this zone will give you the distance needed to travel at speed. Combined with zone two lighting, a smooth transition is achieved creating less stress on your eyes.

Zone 5 - Racer Edition Spot: This zone is necessary for triple digit speeds, or wanting to see miles down the road. This is the only forward projection pattern we recommend mounting along your roofline (wider patterns can contribute to glare).

Zone 6 - Rock/Dome Lighting: This zone is used for wheel well lighting. This light is perfect for truck, jeep, buggy and UTV applications.

Zone 7 - Work/Scene: This is a true flood pattern. Excellent work light or “scene light” with an extremely smooth, round pattern. This pattern is not suitable for forward projection applications.

Zone 8 - Backup Lighting: This zone illuminates the area directly behind the rear of the vehicle. It is recommended that these lights be mounted on your rear bumper or cargo rack.

Any plans for LP6 dust covers in the future? Wanting to use these on my front bumper but want to make sure I can get dust covers/rock guards.

Planning to go with two spot and two driving combos on the outside and some XL80’s at the A Pillars.

Would love to get some details and pricing on these if possible.

Do you have any mounting brackets (other than license plate mounts) for mounting Squadrons to the front bumper of a 2017 Tundra? They would need to attach to the metal frame behind the plastic bumper. Not light bar mounts.

 

We don't offer any bumper mounting solutions besides the license plate mounts and fog pocket kits. You'd have to make something custom or bolt the lights directly to the bumper.

 

Anyone swap out there pro rigid fog lights for the baja squadron sport? I emailed bailey but he has been slow on the response was wondering if anyone did it on the forum. Basically he told me the fog kit wont work for the 19 pro due to the stock set up with the new rigids. To also pick up a pair of normal squadrons not round and they should just fit. My next inquiry is would I need a wiring adapter like the ones that come with the fog kit if so does baja design sell that separately.

I just replied to your email from the 5th. The standard Squadron should be able to bolt into your existing mount. Regarding the wiring, can you post a picture of your existing wiring? It's hard to say whether or not you'll need an adapter without seeing your setup

Love my amber squadron sports I got for Christmas, but wishing for longer distance in the front. Should I replace the wide cornering with the driving combo lens or is upgrading to the pros probably necessary?

 

@Baja Designs - How would the license plate mount be mounted to a Tundra front bumper? The solid metal is several inches behind the front plastic bumper.

Changing to a Driving/Combo lens will get you extra distance. If the distance still isn't enough you might need additional lighting or an upgrade.

Headlight level is ideal for distance. The fog location is a little low for long-range lighting

I haven't personally attempted the install on a Tundra. You can use extra screws into the OEM plastic but it might not be sturdy enough for our heavier lights. Some vehicles aren't as ideal for a license plate mount

Looking to order two flush mount squadron sports for mounting in my rear bumper...

Couple questions..

Is the work/scene the best beam or would the spots be better?

What wires come off the back of the lights? Is it a plug or just stripped wires that I can connect to? Just planning on tapping into my reverse lights.

 

These are not but we are working on releasing SAE approved lighting later this year (June is the current ETA)

Work/Scene would definitely be better than Spots. Work will give you a smooth pattern in the nearfield area which is great for backing up, working around the vehicle, setting up camp, etc.

The lights have a 2-wire design that goes into a 2-pin weatherpack connector. We do include the opposite side connector with pins for customers to use their own wiring. The leads are not bare.

Sorry if this has been asked already (long post...), are the Squadron Sport a direct replacement for the factory fogs that can be used on the road and are DOT approved? I have a n-Fab RMDS front bumper so I will have to figure how to mount these. I miss my fog lights

 

Nope, that is what a bunch of us are waiting on now.
I wouldn't have gotten my wife to get the Squadron fogs for Xmas if I had known at the time the current version isn't DOT compliant.
Waste of $ for me. I had to remove them and go with Morimoto's. My state is illegal to burn off-road lights on public roads.

 

As stated above, the Squadron Sport is not DOT or SAE approved. We are working on an SAE approved option with hopes of releasing this summer. As of now, the ETA is June 2019.
