$52k for a new 2019 Tundra with all the apps but no Apple Play !'m
hoping to see ToyotaEntune, etc step up to include a software upgrade very soon. Most of Toyota's downloads and apps are either proprietary, advertising and outdated. If anyone knows what I can do to install Apple Play without having to spend anymore than I have already, please let me and others know. Thank you

Considering their whole sound system sucks, changing the head unit is a no brainer anyway.

Thanks War Machine but I spent too much on this rig already and I don't want to let Toyota off the hook. Cheaper vehicles can have more to offer.

Did you know there was no Apple play when you bought it?

I just don't understand linking you phone to your truck...yeah bluetooth is nice for hands free calls, but do you really need all that other stuff?

guess I'll never figure it out since i still use a flip Phone and my Garmin unit with lifetime maps

For me, it was having cars with built in "factory nav systems" that ruined me on anything but Google Maps / Waze.

Factory nav maps are always a year behind, and here in DFW they are literally moving highway on ramps up/down/over there/over here.

Try to use a map from 2 or 3 years ago to take 114 to 635 and you will get put on a completely wrong highway.

Having CarPlay (for me anyways) means I have 100% up to date Google maps, on my screen with no updates required. I have a 6.2" in my $600 beater commuter car, and I am about to put a 7" Sony into my truck.

And I share the OP's issue, everyone (except YOU!) has a smart phone now a days. The days of separate/in-dash nav are dying. Why not capitalize on something most of us have in our pockets 100% of the time.

Plus I haven't listed to over-the-air music in about 5 years, Pandora or Spotify FTW. Pandora costs $0.00 a month and I only have to listen to 2 commercials every 3 or so songs...vs 100 ads for 10 minutes of Clearplay selected audio I can't change.

I think the OP means to say this: "If Toyota offers Apple Carplay in a $20k-ish 2019 Corolla, why isn't it in my $52k-ish 2019 Tundra?"

It is a very legitimate question. I hope that Toyota releases this as a software update so all of us with Entune can decided whether or not we want it (I would pay a reasonable amount for a software upgrade that adds Carplay).
