Or just make them in Japan where the legendary landcruiser is made and the 4Runner. It would be interesting to see a percentage study of problems with trucks made in the US vs Mexico for Toyota.

Uncontrolled greed ruined GM and Dodge, and unfortunately Im seeing the signs in Toyota lately. 2015 Rav4 with a "sealed maintenance free" transmission...TQ Converter lets go at 85000 miles...Fix-$5k new transmission. I would expect that from GM, and now Toyota apparently.

Nothing is maintenance free, sealed or not. Your owners manual will tell you that. The dealership probably told you the same thing they said to me...”the trans fluid in your truck is not to be changed until 120k miles under sever use. This fluid is really good stuff.”

I pulled out the old owners manual and showed them otherwise. 60k intervals. There’s nothing special about WS ATF.

Mexican built GM, Mexican built Toyota.....where's the difference? If Toyota does this, it's the best thing Ford could've hoped for.

A lot of F-150’s are being built in Mexico City ,Mexico. So I do not know why it would be the best thing Ford could’ve hoped for ?

Maybe sales are down because the prices have finally got to a point where people can't afford to buy them anymore? Maybe they're loaded with a ton of crap that people just don't want?

Drive by any dealer regardless of brand and see how many trucks they have on the lot. It's not just Toyota that needs to cut production.

I understand this, in the same way I understand that nothing in this world is "free". But beyond a fluid flush (no filter, nothing not even a dipstick) it is an unservicable unit that requires full replacement for single component failure. Thats a shit design, pure and simple.
